Cover It With Plastic And Spray Detroit : Improvamentation Gone Wild

    http://vault-co.blogspot.be/2014/07/...y-detroit.html
Edjamafacashun can't seem to solve the problems our ancestors solved with ease.

You remember bedbugs. They were a big problem during the Dark Ages. People used to call Mexico a hellhole because all the hotels had them. They really had not been seen in the Western world since the very start of the 20th century. After all, hot water (like the kind that used to come out of boilers before energy conservation set all the dials back) kills them and their eggs easily at around 120 degrees.

One of the reasons they were a problem in the Dark Ages is that hot water was in short supply. Kind of like in the West now. We have to conserve energy. It seems to be leaking away and we don't seem to be generating much of it anymore so we have to conserve it. It is as if we had one candle and after it goes out, we have to go back to living in darkness forever. So we really, really, really have to conserve this candle because we can never get another one. After all they banned incandescent bulbs so it is not like we are going to be able to read by electric light.

Improvamentation really does improvament everything through the enrichmentation process. Everything is massively improvamented everywhere you look.

Remember, Detroit was the inspiration for the Jetsons cartoon. It used to be a chrome and padded leather paradise, just like Rhodesia which got improvamented shortly before they improvamented Detroit. Just before the flight out of Detroit began, the Detroit city hall was trialing a new system of lamp posts that gave visitors talking directions. They thought the expense was justified because the city was an international hub of commerce with industrial conventions year round. I can't help but wonder of the irony of some post-apocalyptic scavenger hitting one of these posts a century from now with an animal bone and suddenly this hundred year old prerecorded tape announcing in a cheerful mellifluous 1950's voice that the nearest hotel is a block away.
What has become of our western civilization? Discuss.

Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

I have no idea either. The blog post he quoted refers to a local news report of a council woman bringing up Bed Bugs on city transit buses, which were reported by A person.

Pretty much everything is better than it was in the olden days, which, to be frank, were a bit pants.

    I hope this helps.

Except Detroit to be honest, it's been on a downward spiral for the best few decades which comes from basing their economy on 1 export.

I don't really understand, but did they really just try to compare Detroit with fucking Rhodesia?

There's always an exception or two to any rule, but Western Civilisation as a whole is in better shape now than it has been at any point throughout history, so Detroit should pull its collective socks up and get with the times.

But they are bankrupt! Also I heard that Flint, Michigan may go bankrupt soon as well.

Detroit's problems have less to do with the automobile manufacturing and much more to do with the corrupt city council and mayoral issues that have been governing it for the past fifty years or so.

How can a city go bankrupt? Are they all run completely financially independent in the US?

What's this about not being able to boil water? And what is Improvamentation?

There's a bed bug problem on some buses in Detroit, how the hell did that turn into the beginning of the end of western civilization?

Cities die when their economies tank? Do tell.

For the most part yes, the cities tend to have to pay out huge retirement packages and pensions to city employees and when get that gets to be to much..... especially when employment is decimated as the car companies moved production over seas and property values bottom out.

Obviously he is trying to say improvement. And he seems to feel improvement and conservation is leading to the overall decline of wellbeing for humanity.

Of course 2 examples of things getting better making other things worse indirectly, in ways that resemble the past, is hardly a trend, or pattern.

This is an opinion piece. Not any sort of genuine analysis showing objective facts and analysis. On that, I can agree with the others, this subject is dismissed easily.

No, actually they are using the words they are intending to. I googled it though, they are also apaprently the ONLY ONES using those words, which means they made them up and they mean nothing.

"We can't read by electrical light anymore because they banned incandescent bulbs!"

......they banned them? Well, that's news to me. The store closest to my house still sells them afterall and it isn't like there isn't another source of electrically generated light available in those little corkscrew bulbs, right?

    *sigh*

"We're running out of Hot Water".... seriously?

Then why can I walk out to my sink right now and turn the "H" knob, wait a few seconds and end up burning my fingers? I suppose they're going to say we can't grab a tub of water and stick it ontop of a good ole fashioned fire to boil it, eh?

I bet one should be able to do all of these things in Detroit, what with all those rubber tires laying around that can be burned afterall.
