The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection free on Origin until July 31st

Not sure how many Sims fans are around, but figured I'd throw this up just in case anyone wanted to take advantage of it. EA was originally giving all Origin users who had registered an already purchased copy of The Sims 2 this upgrade, but it appears that they've temporarily extended it to anyone and everyone!

You can see how to claim the offer here: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to...te-collection/

    The Ultimate collection includes:
    • The Sims 2 Base Game
    • The Sims 2 University
    • The Sims 2 Nightlife
    • The Sims 2 Open For Business
    • The Sims 2 Pets
    • The Sims 2 Seasons
    • The Sims 2 Bon Voyage
    • The Sims 2 FreeTime
    • The Sims 2 Apartment Life
    • The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff
    • The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff
    • The Sims 2 Holiday! Stuff
    • The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff
    • The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff
    • The Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff
    • The Sims 2 Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff
    • The Sims 2 IKEA Stuff
    • The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden Stuff

The absolute only catch is that you need to have an Origin account.

    Enjoy!

Edit: There is a chance that the code might be invalidated since the first line of the help article still makes it sound as if this offer is aimed at already existing The Sims 2 owners, but as of now, it still works. Please let me know if that changes!

A couple of years ago EA botched an offer where they let people redeem $20 coupons indefinitely, at that time they honoured all the purchases made through their mistake.

Id be interested, if it was Sims 3...

Oh, sorry! I didn't mean to imply that they'll remove the collection from people who redeem it. I don't think they'd ever do that. I just meant that they might invalidate the code at some point before the 31st. I'll edit again to clarify that part.

If you like The Sims franchise at all, I'd still greatly recommend taking advantage of it. I've honestly enjoyed The Sims 2 more than 3 for some reason. It feels like I need to buy at least another 3 DLC packs for The Sims 3 before it's "complete" in a sense.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up!
And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The only thing I like more in sims 2 than 3 is the way you can set up your own business. Other than very few minor things you definitely want to play sims3, not 2 since 3 is little more than an improvement of 2.

Also be prepared for a hellish installation people.

Just finished downloading this gem, so at least the offer is still working. I've really wanted this game for a while now so getting the game and all the treats that come with it for free was like hitting a jackpot. I smell hours and hours of time wasted on this from now on...

Was also gonna post about this, well done for getting it out there
Gotta say I probably played more Sims 2 than Sims 3 (and I actually bought Sims 2 many many years ago whilst Sims 3 was more a case of 'well if there's not endless DLC for the forseeable future I will buy it' but there was so I 'acquired it' elsewhere...looks like Sims 4 will also be this route....) and made far far nicer houses on Sims 2 (layout / function wise - they look a shitload better on Sims 3 even if they don't work out so well).

Thanks for the heads up, don't know when I'll give it a shot for a replay but always nice with free games, especially ones with so many expansion packs.

Unfortunately, it appears there is an issue, where some players (myself included) are getting an registration code error (Not the I-LOVE-... one, the one Origin input automatically once the game has been installed).

Already have all the old Sims 2 games on CD, but not much of the special packs, and saves me putting them in the CD slot and typing in the codes again. :3

Loved Sims 2, just the only problem I didn't like was loading screens. >.<

Looks like you'll dislike Sims 4 then too. Aren't you glad EA is going back to loading screens instead of going forward? (:

I'm pretty much in the same boat. It's a comfort to know it's there.

Wait, WAHT!?!!! They're going back to the loading screens?!

I was pretty not happy at the whole no toddler and pools, but now this?! I think I'll stick to Sims 3 until maybe next year or until modders (if they do) fix it.
