battle.net/wow site sucks?

back few years ago, WoW had incredibly rich, beautiful site with all the info about the game and everything you have ever imagined
i bet they lost huge amount of players just because of their shitty battle.net integration <SENSE OF GETTING NEW PPL>, it doesnt feel like WoW site anymore, its ugly, small, unreadable, hard to find anything interesting there

The only thing I'd agree with is the readability. When they first transitioned, the new color scheme made my eyes burn, and it took a long time to adjust to it.

However the actual design of the current site is a huge improvement, especially in terms of navigation. Look at how far down you have to go just to reach the forums on that image compared to where it's located now, for example.

It wasn't streamlined or nice to navigate through at all. It was dated. You had to browse all over to find what you were looking for.

The new site is objectively better.

I see both sides. I do appreciate the old site, it looked better and fit the WoW theme a lot more. I spent much more time on that website than I do now, which is never. However the convenience that the battle.net site added was worth the trade off IMO.

Also, wf why would anyone quit over battle.net or how the site looks? Don't be dumb. You keep claiming it's 'ugly', purely subjective, it's a fairly easy site to traverse.

While I don't think this actually matters at all, I do agree the "new" (it's actually really old now) battle.net site is unspeakably ugly. Like wowwww, trying to read things posted on battle.net/wow causes more retinal damage than staring at the sun.

What in the hell is "the WoW theme" as applicable to a website? Also, it looked like early 00's trash. It looks like shitty F2P game sites look now.

The only place where that sort of website design is still popular is Japan (where all the popular sites are like this). God knows how such a design oriented culture can care so little about site design.

The new one is so much better, like in terms of pure readability, the old one was a cluttered mess that reminds me of those terrible myspace-era website. Minimalism is the new chic and it's probably not going to come back to clutter for a long time, as I expect it to shift into very (visually) empty websites fairly soon.

It might be just me but... if you guys have a problem reading things on the new site, you reaaally need to get your eyes checked. I don't see anything wrong with the color scheme.

Otherwise, the new site is much easier to navigate and find things easily. Sounds like OP is one of those people that hate change because there's a brief learning period. This learning period is well worth it in this case, though.

I liked the atmosphere of the old site but was too cluttered, the new site is more lean and simple.
