    Obama and Immigration

    B. Obama has decided to use his presidential resources to bypass congress and do what he thinks is right.

Will it get him a better public opinion (those directly affected don't count) or will it speed up his political train wreck?

    http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/04/politi...html?hpt=hp_t1

    Possible sides to consider,

+ More people coming to the country mean more low paying jobs that can be filled.
+ More wall fodder in the event of a war.
+ Cheaper labor. More americans will be able to afford house help, yard work, etc.

    - Taking potential jobs from uneducated americans.
    - More mouths to feed/more resource consumption with little to be gained in return.
    - Influx of unskilled (certified) workers along with children competing with the american youth.

Yeah Obama is such a communist and what not for suggesting and putting forward a plan that was basically hatched up by republicans in the first place. really the constantly moving of the goal posts by the right wingers is getting old. And those jobs you speak of are jobs noone wants to do.

And if we are to be serious about these issues i dont see a single right wingers suggest we fine the business that gets caught with undocumented workers 1 million dollars for each case of undocumented worker they have. Cause they know business loves the ability to hire people of the books and pay slave wages while doing it.

Any it is just empty lipservice to the right wing extremist base if they say that the things they do but dont back it up to make sure the hiring of undocumented workers will cost the businesses MILLIONS if they get caught. It comes down to are you willing to pay the fair price of your goods in the store or do you demand that goods needs to be handled by slaves to be cheap enough for you.

This is probably his one and only smart decision. USA foundations are BASED ON IMMIGRANTS.

Forgot the most important reason, and the only reason he's doing it.

It will attempt to ensure millions of Democratic Votes manifest as Republicans try to undo yet another of his BS acts.

This is about a corrupt man's attempt to take over our system. Nothing else. You can track everything he does by if it will give him an edge.

I do love how the GOP attacking Obama for going alone on issues refuses to do anything about a massive issue.

These kinds of things say more about the accuser than the accused.

It is very hard to do something when Harry Reid refuses to allow a single GoP bill to be voted on. The GoP is doing what it can within their abilities, but unlike the President, they still follow the rule of law. Something that you neglected to mention as usual.

Oh man, this is going to be a good one.

    On topic

I feel like I remember reading something about some of the GOP urging him to use executive orders when the house was unable to do anything a week ago.

    http://www.nationalmemo.com/house-fa...ama-act-alone/

    Something about that.

No no no you don't get to blame Reid when the GOP can't even get a bill through the house.

Wish poll options were for creating this topic. Political "train wreck" to fairly skewed "Pro/Con" list seems to show which way you feel about it.

Yeah, but there's like, 50 or so Repeal Obamacare bills that Reid is refusing to waste weeks on voting down.

Have we had someone think that an executive order is a unilateral law yet?

I am totally indifferent. If you give me a suggestion, I won't have a problem changing it...as long as it is reasonable.

    Yup, it didn't take long.

    223-189 vote.

They do stuff; it's just not publicly addressed--sort of like the rest of Congress. How would news corporations get higher ratings if they didn't report on controversial bills and instead all bills proposed in both chambers?

All I can offer is a well deserved LOL at the above statement.

The GOP has gotten about 400+ Bills through the House all of which were tabled by Mr. Reid as he and Obama are trying to lie to people on where the problem in Washington lays. Pelosi's only concern and desire is to become Speaker again. I'm not even talking about the Obamacare repeal bills which number about the same. It's like one side is doing all the work and then the other side does nothing and says "Your not working hard enough." There's nothing I can say that will convince you however. To do that I'd have to undo years of political indoctrination. It make about as much sense as Cyclonus screaming "All hail Galvatron" randomly during Transformers G1.

Remove Harry Reid from the Senate and give Republicans control of the Senate, and you'll see real results that improve this Country folks. Granted it'll be with our leader kicking and screaming like a Toddler who does not get candy in the store, but at this stage he's more than earned that. The only change he's trying to bring is a change in our voting block as we've realized he's as sincere and legitimate in his concern for us as a three dollar bill.

My comment included what I felt in your post was biased toward one side of the issue in what I thought was a fairly straightforward manner, but I can elaborate:

    1. Referring to him as a political train wreck in general with the "other" option being boosting public opinion of him implies that's a purely political decision despite saying it's about him doing "what he thinks is right." In any case, you calling it a "train wreck" doesn't really seem unbiased even ignoring the implication stated.

    2. Your "sides to consider" list of + and - have very poorly thought out or just silly +'s. I concede that specifying taking jobs from "uneducated americans" isn't as biased as the usual "taking our jobs" fear mongering used on immigrant groups throughout USA's history, but the others are not so much

    - Taking potential jobs from uneducated americans.
