It's not a remake, it's a rerelease of the original RE1 remake for the Gamecube with updated visuals and optional non-tank controls.

I would argue that updating the graphics, changing the control, changing the resolution and releasing to all platforms is pretty much the same as a remake. The game was released during the start of what modern day gaming is. I am pretty sure it was one of the early voice acted games.

I was slightly excited about this but those screenshots are fairly disappointing. Looks like the GC version running on an emulator or something. It had great visuals and character models for its time, but 12+ years later they need more than a higher resolution.

Considering it´s going from GC to PS4 etc it looks bad. And do you really think they´ll do a RE2 remake from scratch? Sorry to burst your bubble but the only game that´s likely to be released afterwards is RE Zero. It´d be cool but the chances are extremely slim even if this sells well

That's smart, though. Because that's really one of the only couple of RE titles that are worth a playthrough these days. Seeing as this action shooter fad is poisoning the franchise.

Did you even look at the screenshots from it? It's not the same graphics. That's the one thing that's being changed as they upgrade them.

What...? It's exactly the same model, just with higher resolution textures and some heavy AA thrown over it...

This is just a lazy attempt at money grabbing to be honest.

That was the best RE game by far.... Tense and atmospheric. The need to burn the zombies was a nice addition.

Only reason I'm going to buy this version (non tank controls help and some of the simple sharpening does look decent) even though I owned the Gamecube and Wii (still have this one) versions. A revamped RE2 and 3 would get me super excited.

I can't help but feel that this is Capcom testing the water for either more HD remakes (RE 2&3 baby, I want remakes of those!) or perhaps they're trying to see if the old style Resident Evil can still sell well in 2014.

Because lets be honest, those action-focused games RE4/RE5/RE6 (Yes, RE4 was decent, but not the kind of RE game I enjoy) aren't what long time fans consider worthy sequels to the original survivor horror ones.

REmake had decent voice acting, was nowhere near as terrible as the original 'MASTER OF LOCKPICKING' stuff.
