H Garry 10 man 1st Transition phase help

    Hi Guys.

I was wondering for the people that have done H Garry on 10 man before help my guild with our group positioning for the 1st transition phase.

Here are some notes to help :-

    Group make up

    Druid Tank

    Disc Priest
    Resto Sham

    Hunter x 2 (1 Survival 1 BM)
    Warlock x 2 (Both Destro)
    Mage (Arcane)
    Rogue (Sub)
Spriest (hits like a wet paper bag)

    - Our 2nd set of warbringer's aren't warsong because we push garrosh
    - We don't usually get a 2nd engineer
    - We don't get a 2nd set of the single wolf rider

For the 1st Transition Phase (Phase 1.5)
We are currently doing 3 | 4 | 3 strat. Hunter Rogue Druid Tank | Mage, Warlock, Resto Sham, Hunter | Spriest, Warlock, Disc Priest
Then we split into 5 | 5 for the back left and back right adds near Garrosh.

    - We seem to have the interupts fine 90% of the time. Very limited wipes when someone mess up 1-2 interupts
    - Biggest problem we're having is Garrosh is on 25-26-27 energy 90% of the time. We've had a few attempts where he's been on 22-24 energy.

So My question is, should we be doing a different strat for the transition phase? Should we have different classes somewhere else? or are we just lacking dps for that transition phase?

    Thanks guys

    Break into groups of 2.

Put one warlock and one hunter on each side in the back. With Shadow fury and binding shot they should be able to kill them before any casts get off. the hunters will have to look up the how to so they know where to place the binding shot to make sure it stuns all the adds. Have the locks Havoc one of the adds and chaos bolt one of the other. Have each hunter throw a multishot, and each warlock drop a rain of fire on the front groups of their respective sides as they run to the back. Each lock can also have a single target interrupt if they sac the right pet as backup

Put the disc priest on the middle group with the bear, if the priest is Blood elf have him arcane torrent the first interupt. Have him and the tank focus down one add. Should die fast with the vengeance and berserk from the bear. Then have the bear stun one with the talented stun, and skull bash the other. They should be dead before the third cast but if not the tank still has bear hug for the last remaining add.

Put the resto shaman with the mage. Have him glyph capacitor totem and drop it in the middle of the adds just before the adds in his group are engaged. The stun will go off before the casts finish and they will be stunned for 5 seconds. The mage should be able to kill one of the adds if he goes in with 4 stacks plus his barrage will hit 3 of the adds. have the shaman spec into call of the elements to instantly reset the cd on his capacitor totem and drop another one when the stun gets to 2 seconds so that as soon as the adds get unstunned and start casting they get stunned again. This stun will be dr'd slightly so the mage has to have the second add close to dead by the time the second stun wears off. If there is two adds left have the shaman wind shear one and the mage silence the other. If there is only one add left than have either one of them get it.

The rogue and the spriest is going to be the hard group as they have the least amount of interrupts.
If either one of them is a BE:
If one is have them focus one add down and arcane torrent first casts. The first add should be dead before they start to cast again. Then have them each interrupt one. They can focus the same one again to make sure there is only one left. The rogue will have to vanish and cheap shot or garrote to interrupt the last one.

    If they are both BE:
Have them arcane torrent the first and second casts. Once again one add should be dead by the time the second set of casts start. And 2 should be dead before the third set starts. Have one of them interrupt the last one.

If neither of them are BE: PRAY YOUR ROGUE IS GOOD THIS IS GOING TO BE HARD ON HIM
Have the rogue vanish and cheap shot one and kick another while your shadow priest silences the last one. One should be dead by the time the second set of casts start. Your rogue is going to have to dance and cheap shot one and garrote the other. Two should be dead by the time the third cast on the last add starts, if either of them have an interrupt back by this point they should use it.

One thing to be mindful about: Since you will have a rain of fire and and a multi shot on each side from the warlock and hunter groups that should help some with the damage. MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK AND HUNTER DO NOT ACTIVATE THE MOBS IN THE FRONT BEFORE THE GROUPS GET TO THEM AS THE CASTS WILL START BEFORE THEY ARE PREPARED TO INTERUPT/STUN. IF the adds are activated before the resto shaman gets his cap totem down its gg the casts will go off. If the casts start before the rogue gets over to his group at least one cast will go off since he has to stun one and kick the other. The locks and hunters should use their aoes as they go up the stairs to the middle group which will ensure that the other groups have already started attack their sides.

If the resto/mage group finishes fast enough they can help the rogue/spriest group. If either lock/hunter group finish fast enough they can help kill the middle group where the bear/disc is.

MAKE SURE SOMEONE TAGS THE BOSS AS SOON AS ALL THE GROUPS ARE DEAD TO ENSURE THAT HIS ENERGY STOPS GOING UP.

If you have any questions, let me know!

More or less what the above person has said, but we split our raid into 4 groups (2 front groups, middle, and back left, then as they kill the front group they move to the back right). You should be able to kill every add before needing to interupt a 3rd time.

Also, Tauren Racial is awesome just like Belf racial.

Make sure the locks are going in there with embers up and that they know how to havoc because each one can kill 2 mobs extremely fast. Mage going in with arcane missiles procs etc. Pretty sure everyone in our raid uses their 2minute cds here too.

Also, capacitor totem glyph for shaman.

If this is legit, that explains the numerous times my guild has experienced his energy continuing to go up after we kill everything. Wish I had known this months ago!

Your strat seems ok, kinda hard to tell without logs though.

For instance is both priests take halo, with the correct positioning thats 30-40% of 9 adds (3 groups of 3 get hit). Since every GCD is gold dust thats a lot of bang for your buck. Logs can pin-point lots of little things so post em if you got em!

If the priest is in the middle he may be able to hit more than 9, but 9 for sure.

Thanks for all the input guys. No logs up yet the guys that log are at work but I can post them up later.

We will try the 5 group of 2 adds as well see if that works. I know lots of guilds do it different. Some do 2 | 3 | 2 then 3 on the back left then the front groups move to to the back right for example but once again, thanks we'll try with some new strats tonight!

Why is your rogue sub? Have him combat and wreck the adds.

  9. #9
Is there a reason why your rogue isn't combat?

  10. #10
Get that rogue to go combat and he'll be able to solo a pack or close to depending on gear.

Both locks can solo a pack each, full embers + cleave shadowbolt, shadowfury on cast, 2 will die before they have a chance to cast 2nd, then solo interrupt on the 3rd add.
