Sound playing through mic

I've been TRYING and TRYING to fix this (All computer sound playing through mic, crystal clear, like they are listening to it on their own computer), I've checked so many threads on this and I can't seem to find a fix that works for me. I use via HD audiodeck and i don't know of any settings that do this, I don't have the sterio mix, only thing I couldn't find is monitoring and thats on windows xp supposedly, I've gaven up and need help, I've tried everything I could, does anyone have a fix ?

Would it be possible that the Mic is plugged into the headphone socket? After a little googling I came across this provided you are using an on board Realtek device go to the Realtek device advanced settings and check the option separate all input jacks as independent input jacks, Other than that I have no clue.

You can do the reverse and plug headphones into the mic socket and use them as a mic if you want.
