It's the lack of eyebrows. There's nothing to accentuate his eyes and therefor they look tiny and beady.

I think Grom looks weird in general (his model and in the cinematic). But the cinematic teaser itself looks epic.

I think part of it is the angle to. That and lack of motion.

It's also the lighting, the tuskteeth, the nosering, and the ears. Oh and the angle. I'm sure in motion he'll look a lot better. Oh and his facial expression, he's scrunching his face up a bit.

Edit: Holy shit he has rings through his teeth. Teeth piercings. omg. Did anyone else notice that, think about it, and then cringe in pain / consider curling up into a ball? Ouch.

For cereal, the angle is screwing it up bad. Go get any sort of highly reflective surface (a mirror if you will) that you can move around with your hands, put it out at arms length as if it were looking up at you from two feet shorter than your height and watch the massive porkulus you become. It's... it's haunting.

Also, a bit of this problem. See, eyebrows aren't the issue here, it's that if you look at the full-size image you'll notice the whites of his eyes are missing. His eyelids are really, squished.

On further examination my big complaint with that is how amazingly tiny his axe is. Part of that might be perspective, but it doesn't really look as imposing as it should.

Except Thrall, who obviously has eyebrows because he was raised by humans. Or maybe he's a woman.
