If so then this is a total Med'an retcon. If he has the staff it means either Med'an is dead (unlikely since he's literally Goku), or that he doesn't exist at all (preferable.)

IIRC, one of the creative directors responded to a tweet asking about Atiesh/Med'an saying they'd still like to make Med'an awesome... meaning he's not completely retconned out (yet). /shrug

Well, it's a game, you know. If people hate a character that bad, and he hasn't even been seen ingame yet, they can very easily erase him from existence. It's not even an intrincate single player game, it's a MMO with an ongoing anime-like story (the best in the genre, I'll give them that) to support as many patches and expansions as possible.

If Khadgar getting Atiesh is a better story that leads to more content and people like it more, then sure, Med'an never existed.

Atiesh question. Maraad is Med'an great-uncle. Med'an gave the staff to Maraad to give it to Khadgar. Simple.

Yeah kind of agree on the sentiment on kicking Me'dan to the curb and if anyone was a worthy successor to wield Medivh's staff it is good old(very old) Khadgar.
