Would this PC run WoW on Ultra?

Heya, so I finally have enough money/overdraft to buy a PC and not play on this horrendous laptop anymore and get back into HC raiding.
Just wondering (I'm 100% computer illiterate) Should I change anything from this list/ Anything worth downgrading/upgrading if I'm solely using the computer for world of warcraft? Looking at playing at max fps in a 20 raid setting with atleast high on

PS Someone said I should get a 280x - I have no idea what this was, apparently under video card, but there's like 300 different 280x?

If it is solely for WoW, then you don't really need to change anything.

I would however tack on a couple £ and double the SSD space, drop the HDD (for now), swap the CPU for the 4690k and upgrade the PSU.

Put in a Z97 to go with the 4690K:

    MSI Z97 PC MATE

The EVGA PSU is fine if you need to shave off a few £.

270x doesnt run wow on ultra on a raid environment neither neither does a 280x for that matter. and by that i mean 60fps or higher 100% of the time. not even decently populated orgrimmar tbh.

If you're talking 60 fps 100% of the time then not even 4 780ti's in Quad SLI will be able to handle that.

OP: a 270x AND a 280x won't even hit max load in roads/bgs/cities/etc. This guy is either a troll or doesn't know what he's talking about. As for the OS, I recommend Windows 8 for better performance and if you want a start menu just go with Classic Shell or Start8. It'll be just like Windows 7 except the texture will be Windows 8 based and you will see much better performance.

^ However, you'll rarely drop below 40fps with an overclocked 4690k, and practically never outside combat.

It isn't about GPU power, I found that a single GTX 760 is plenty for WoW, rest is on CPU.

should I get an i7 instead then?

i7 doesn't benefit you at all, since WoW mainly cares about single core speed. i7 and i5 perform identically at same clock speeds. i7 has higher clock when stock but you can easily match that by overclocking the i5.

there's nothing wrong with the 4690k. It's currently one of the highest performing CPU's for WoW when OC'd. Anything more is a big waste of money when you're considering only gaming.

~40fps in 25mans is actually pretty standard. Anyone who claims to get a steady 60+ during combat is a dead ass liar.
