I don't think her reputation is destroyed at all. And that's the part that's bad about it.

The gaming media and most gaming web sites have come to her defense making her the victim.

Hell, just look at the current tread going on neogaf right now in regards to the fake ass doxxing of Phil Fish. Almost every one is sympathetic to the situation, which is the reason for the shit storm in the first place.

He's one of the "women can do no wrong" crowd. At least he was last time I watched his videos, a few years back (where he among other things made a video that logically implied we we should kill rape victims so they don't feel bad).

he got a lot more hate off them because he was well known. most of the people who coverered this so far were just smaller youtube channels, TB has a very large following and opened it up to the masses who follow him on twitter, they didn't like that. it was much easier to silence a small twitter account or take down asmall channels youtube video, was much harder for them to silence TB, so they just attacked him instead.

I abhor Kotaku, but there are a million other sites hosting the same information.

In a nutshell, a review got fired for giving Kane & Lynch a bad review after the website he worked for had been sponsored by the game Publisher with skins, wallpaper, et al. They felt they got betrayed on their investment with a bad review, so they made the site fire the guy.

They then changed the review from a 6.0 to a 9.0.

how long was it before they changed the score and stuff? because i remember reading a review on kane and lynch that gave it a 6.0. not sure if it is was that one.

Its people like Zoe Quinn that don't just make feminism and women in general take a step back. No, she makes us board the Tardis, get dropped off in 65 million BC and start all over.

Zoe is not a Feminist by any stretch of the imagination. She is the exact opposite of what true feminists stand for. Feminists wish for an equal playing field with the boys and shouldn't feel the need to use our bodies in order to get ahead in life. The type of person who wishes for equal pay rather than making 75 cents to the dollar compared to our male counterparts.

The underlying problem here isn't that she's just a whore. She's a whore that profited off her whoring and that just makes her a prostitute in my eyes. Then she goes around and lies about it and uses her "clients" to suppress any information about it.

Look, I understand its hard to get ahead in the gaming community as a woman, and its hard to even be taken seriously, but if you make a quality product it will shine through. Naughty Dog's Amy Henning has written for many many games and is one of my favorite story tellers with such games as Legacy of Kain and Uncharted under her belt. No one went out of their way to suppress her work, why? because it was good and deserved to be told and made. Zoe's game, which I've played, did not deserve to be made, it did not deserve the publicity it received, and certainly did not deserve the ratings it got. It was only made because 1 girl was able to literally screw her game onto Steam and if I were still doing game reviews it would be a 2/10 for me....cause well....the text is pretty right?

And who is going to end up suffering for this? All gaming review sites in general im afraid. No one is going to trust any reviewer anymore because of people like Zoe. We can knight up and try to slay the dragon but we are only going to find out its a baby dragon and the mother is still off laying billions of eggs to hatch at a future date. The exposure has already damaged gaming review credibility to the point where I have to research a game extensively and even wait for lets plays now before I decide "yeah, im going to pick up my preorder" or cancel it.

People like Zoe make me want to stay in my mundane cashier at a grocery store type job and not Pursue my true dream of being a developer for games. I'm not willing to fuck my way to getting my game pushed through and with women like her who will do it at a moments notice, I don't think I would have much of a chance.

TLR - Zoe Quinn makes me ashamed to be a female gamer. She sets feminism back millions of years. I hope she is deeply ashamed of her actions and realizes the veil has been pulled and admits to it.

Technically in this situation both genders were guilty of the moral/professional improprieties, I think that's abundantly clear. Both sides had something to gain(you could even argue profitably on both sides in some ways too). And all sides didn't care about the risks or fallout.

I just heard about this about 30 minutes ago and shes sounds ambitious and clever to me. She found weak people in positions of power and exploited them to gain an advantage in an unfair system.

Shes done it doesnt matter whether she wins this specific battle or not. She has no credibility for anything anymore, she drug a bunch of reviewers and devs down with her who also will have their careers likely bomb because of this. So if she wins or loses this short stint I dont care, shes basically going to be stigmatized till the end of time and future devs and critics will likely avoid her purely out of the fear of what associating with her could do to them.
