Hey everyone, I'm sure a lot of people noticed that in many video games the ranking system goes like this: D = bad, C = acceptable, B = good, A = Great,

S = Perfect and it's the best rank ever !

I mean I understand that A is better than B because it's the first letter and B is the second letter and etc etc you got my point right?

So where did that come from that the S rank surpass even A?

Just curious.

He means like in Sonic, for example, if you finish a level really fast and collect a lot of rings you can get a "S" rank on the stage. There's other games like this, though I'm having trouble thinking of them but it's 8am and I haven't slept yet so cut me some slack.

Anyway, I actually have no idea either and it would be interesting to find out.

Many games in fact. For example, pretty recent ones like Dark Souls series scaling rank with weapons for example S consider the best and A consider the second best rank. Devil May Cry has this ranking system as well whenever you finish an area.
