    PSU/LCD suggestions?

    Hello everyone! Canadian here!

Looking for a bit of help on this build, mirrored after the $450 G3258 build I saw on reddit. Goal is to have a budget build for gaming (WoW, Steam games, LoL etc.)

    Here's where I need advice:

PSU - Gut feeling is 500W is more than enough with my parts, no idea how good this PSU is, hoping for thoughts here.

LCD - Open to any and all suggestions here. Took the suggestion from MMO Champion.

The $0 parts are coming from another build. The RAM was purchased a few days ago, was a fantastic price error.

    Power supply is fine.

I'd pick a bigger decent IPS monitor instead, even if it it a few dollars extra.

    ViewSonic VX2370Smh-LED $180
    Acer H236HLbid $169
    Asus VS239H-P $170

Suggestion between the Acer and Asus? Both look the same from what I can tell.

Will I be fine with 5ms? Or should I find a lower ms alternative?

The response time is fine on either, not like you're playing competitive shooters. You're really only going to find super low values on less superior TN panels (few exceptions).

Which one to pick? Hmm... Well the Acer comes with a slim style bezel, slightly better stand, more content in the box like an extra HDMI cable. The screen is glossy as described near the end in below video. The Asus one is matte, there is pros and cons to both.

Thank you again. Last question on my end.

I have this PSU leftover from a previous build, Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply. Would it be enough for this build, or should I stick with the 500W?

While it is technically enough power I have a lot of bad experiences with Corsairs CX series PSUs. Then again if it has caused no issues already maybe just stick with it. Me personally would get something better, even better than the EVGA unit. I know it's extra cost but to me it's well worth knowing you have a quality unit powering your more expensive parts.

Well, have another dilemma/question, hoping for some help. All the parts came in yesterday, set it all up nicely, very happy.

I'm going to be purchasing another 1TB today, but I don't have any SATA power cables left (? right terminology?). The way it's set up right now is that the cable with 2 SATA power connectors goes into both my 1TB HDD's, and the other one is a long SATA power cable (it's 1 plugged into the other, came with my PSU) that has about 3-5 SATA power connectors, but only two are used (one for the DVD/RW drive at the top and one for the SSD). I needed to plug the cables into each other because of the length from the DVD/RW to SSD to PSU.

My question is this. What cable can I get so that I can extend the SATA power cable I have connected to my 2 HDD's? I basically just need to extend it once more to my new drive.

Gut feeling is it's this cable: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_i...seq=1&format=2

    Or this? http://www.ncix.com/detail/startech-...h-1b-76015.htm

    Both look the same.

    Any help?

If I understand you correctly then the cable from Monoprice is the one you need.
