    Razor Blackwidow Too Loud

Is there any way to make it quieter? When recording with my blue yeti mic even if it is a fair distance away it is way way too loud and still picks up that mech keyboard clacking sound. I can not buy a new keyboard or exchange it.
Its not the ultimate or stealth one. It has Cherry MX Green keys as well. And also i would prefer if there is a generally a "free way" to dampen the noise so that my yeti mic wont pick it up as badly
I solo stuff. I do deepz. I raid. What else do i want? Oh yeah. loot. give me loot. Cookie for loot?

Different key switches make different sounds.

I do not have a Mechanical Keyboard as of yet (I want one with an LCD) but it looks as though MX Brown are quite quiet.

To answer this short, no. You have no way of dampening the noice. with that said you could just put a thick blanket over your hands and keyboard while typing. When I shop for mechanical keyboards I always go with cherry MX red as they don't have the tactile feel and click. Makes it a bit less noicy.

I know that part. I just didn't realize that greens would be super loud

They're not greens. They're crappy Razer version of Cherry MX Blues.

Buy a Cherry MX Red board, problem solved.

I can't really atm. But do you have a good suggestion below 100 dollars or so?

That's the problem with these keyboards tbh, as I said I do not currently have one myself, but usually it's hard to judge until you have the thing at home.

Like Belial said there isn't going to be much you can do other than buying a new keyboard outside of making some kind of noise dampener either for the keyboard itself or for the mic, neither of which are going to be very effective without causing other problems (such as trickier keyboard use or lesser sound quality.)

You could probably swap the key switches one by one, but usually they are soldered onto the pcb so It would be painfully time consuming unless you can find somewhere to do it for you, in which situation you might as well just get a new one anyway to save the hassle.

Edit: A quick look on Amazon brings up the Logitech G710 which looks to have MX Brown. It is a little bit out of your $100 budget but you are paying partly for the brand as well.

It's UK based so the prices will be a little irrelevant but you can get an idea on scan here:

The cheapest ones that I would trust the companies of are still going to put you back around £60 (close enough to $100 to not matter) but they will most likely be cheaper from a US based site since we pay more for pretty much everything :<

You might want to get some O-rings, they dampen the noise notably (though it won't go away altogether). Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS4kK9-QsEo
I don't think this matters nearly as much as you think it does.

O rings dampen the bottoming out of the keys, if you type with correct technique then o rings will do zero.

yes there is, add rubber O-rings, all my keyboards are ringed, it gives a better refined feel and quiets down the typing by eliminating the sound of the keycap impacting the backplate, leaving just the clicks of the switches

OP, if noise is a problem, get a keyboard with MXBrowns, or the orange switches on the new blackwidows, then order some red or black O-rings off ebay and go to town on the keycaps

or you can order a Topre
