    WoD - Racials & PvP - class/race combo predictions

    Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to encourage one race being better than another (since it seems like that was the idea with changing racial traits). However, I'm pretty sure there will be clear-cut best combos that the majority will take anyway.

    Then, I'm just curious of the blatantly obvious or really nice combinations anyone sees coming for WoD. Imo a Tauren/Dwarf Resto Shaman looks pretty sick. What else? (there's already an EMFH praise thread)

    BLOOD ELF
    Current Racial Traits:
    Arcane Affinity – Enchanting skill increased by 10.
    Arcane Torrent – Silence all enemies within 8 yards for 2 seconds and restores X of your resource.
    Arcane Resistance – Reduces Arcane damage taken by 1%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Arcane Acuity - Increases Critical Strike Chance by 1%.
    Arcane Affinity - Enchanting skill increased by 10.
    Arcane Torrent - Restores 20 Runic Power for Death Knights, 1 Holy Power for Paladins, or 3% of mana for Mages, Priests, Warlocks.
    Arcane Resistance - Reduces Arcane damage taken by 1%.

    DRAENEI
    Current Racial Traits:
    Gift of the Naaru – Heals the target for 20% of their total health over 15 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
    Heroic Presence – Increases chance to hit with all spells and attacks by 1%.
    Gemcutting – Increases Jewelcrafting skill by 10.
    Shadow Resistance – Shadow damage taken reduced by 1%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Gift of the Naaru - Heals the target for 20% of their total health of 5 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
    Heroic Presence – Increase Strength, Agility, and Intellect, scaling with character level.
    Gemcutting - Increases Jewelcrafting skill by 10.
    Shadow Resistance - Shadow damage taken reduced by 1%.

    DWARF
    Current Racial Traits:
    Crack Shot – Expertise with ranged weapons increased by 1%.
    Mace Specialization – Increases expertise with mace and two-handed maces by 1%.
    Stoneform – Removes poison, disease, and bleed effects and reduces damage taken by 10% for 8 seconds.
    Frost Resistance – Frost damage taken reduced by 1%.
    Explorer – Additional fragments found when looking archaeological finds, surveying ability is faster.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Frost Resistance - Frost damage taken reduced by 1%.
    Might of the Mountain – Increases Critical Strike bonus damage and healing by 2%.
    Stoneform – Removes magic and curse effects in addition to poison, disease, and bleed effects, along with reducing damage taken by 10% for 8 seconds.
    Exploerer - Additional fragments found when looking for archaeological finds, surveying ability is faster.

    GNOME
    Current Racial Traits:
    Expansive Mind – Increases mana pool by 5%.
    Escape Artist – Remove the effects of any immobilization or movement speed reduction effect. 1.5 minute cooldown.
    Shorblade Specialization – Expertise with Daggers and One-Handed Swords increased by 1%.
    Engineering Specialist – Increased Engineering skill by 15 points.
    Arcane Resistance – Reduces Arcane damage taken by 1%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Expansive Mind – Increases maximum mana, energy, rage, and Runic Power by 5%.
    Escape Artist – Remove the effects of any immobilization or movement speed reduction effect. 1 minute cooldown.
    Engineering Specialist - Increased Engineering skill by 15 points.
    Nimble Fingers – Increases Haste by 1%.
    Arcane Resistance - Reduces Arcane damage taken by 1%.

    GOBLIN
    Current Racial Traits:
    Time is Money – 1% increase to attack and casting speed.
    Rocket Jump – Activates your rocket belt to jump forward.
    Rocket Barrage – Launches belt rockets at an enemy.
    Best Deals Anywhere – Always receive the biggest discount, regardless of faction standing.
    Pack Hobgoblin – Calls Gobbler, allowing you bank access for 1 minute.
    Better Living Through Chemistry – Alchemy skill increased by 15.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Time is Money – 1% increase to Haste.
    Rocket Jump – Activates your rocket belt to jump forward.

    Diplomacy – Reputation gain increased by 3%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    The Human Spirit – Increases 2 secondary stats by an amount scaling with character level.
    Every Man for Himself – Removes all movement impairing effects and all effects that cause the loss ofcontrol of the character.
    Diplomacy – Reputation gain increased by 10%.

    NIGHT ELF
    Current Racial Traits:
    Quickness – Increased chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks by 2%.
    Wisp Spirit – Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing speed by 75%.
    Shadowmeld – Slip into the shadows, reducing the chance of enemies to detect your presence.
    Elusiveness – Reduces the chance enemies have to detect you while using Shadowmeld.
    Nature Resistance – Reduces Nature damage taken by 1%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Quickness – Increases movement speed by 2% and increases Dodge chance by 2%.

    Command – Damage done by pets increased by 2%
    Hardiness – Reduces duration of Stun effects by 15%.
    Blood Fury – Activate to increase Attack Power and Spell Power based on your level and class for 15 seconds.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Command – Increases pet damage by 1%.
    Hardiness – Reduces the duration of Stun effects by 10%.
    Blood Fury – Activate to increase Attack Power and Spell Power based on your level and class for 15 seconds.

    TAUREN
    Current Racial Traits:
    Endurance – Base health increased by 5%.
    War Stomp – Stuns opponents.
    Cultivation – Herbalism skill increased by 15 points, gathering herb speed increased.
    Nature Resistance – Nature damage taken reduced by 1%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Endurance – Increases Stamina by an amount scaling with character level. .
    War Stomp – Stuns opponents.
    Cultivation – Herbalism skill increased by 15 points, gathering herb speed increased.
    Nature Resistance – Nature damage taken reduced by 1%.
    Brawn - Increase Critical Strike bonus damage and healing done by 2%.

    TROLL
    Current Racial Traits:
    Berserking – Increases Attack and Casting speed by 20% for 10 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
    Beast Slaying – Damage increased by 5% when fighting Beasts.
    Dead Eye – Expertise with ranged weapons increased by 1%.
    Regeneration – Increased health regeneration by 10%.
    Da Voodoo Shuffle – Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:
    Berserking – Increases Hastes by 15%.. 3 minute cooldown.
    Beast Slaying – Increases XP earned from killing Beasts by 20%.
    Regeneration – Increased health regeneration by 10%.
    Da Voodoo Shuffle – Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%.

    UNDEAD
    Current Racial Traits:
    Will of the Forsaken – Remove any Charm, Fear, and Sleep effect. 2 minute cooldown.
    Cannibalize – Regenerates a percentage of total health and mana every 2 seconds for 10 seconds.
    Touch of the Grave – Attacks and damaging spells have a chance to drain the target, dealing Shadow damage and healing you for that amount.
    Shadow Resistance – Reduces Shadow damage taken by 1%.
    Underwater Breathing – Can breathe underwater for an infinite amount of time.
    Warlords of Draenor Racial Traits:

    Gnome dks with 1 min root breaks, Desecrated Ground now breaking roots and using a PvP trinket. Would love to roll a gnome but meh they're just too small. I think Gnomes will be good for warriors too now that they don't have root breaking Safeguard.

    I always think "OH yeah I'll roll a gnome, they're so cool!" for about 10 minutes until I've actually gone through character creation and realised just how god damn small they are.

    Dwarf or nelf for healers.

    That's what pretty much any dedicated pvp-er is gonna be playing.

    Is that only increase on critical healing or overall 2% increase healing ?
    Tauren have it spelled more clear: Brawn - Increase Critical Strike bonus damage and healing done by 2%.
    Isn't 2% healing done better than only critical heal increased by 2% or i just misinterpret dwarf racial(i'm not native speaker).

    I'll stick with what I've played with for the last 16 or so years: Orcs and Humans.

    I really thought that blizzard will change human racial this time. On the beta in PvP my human crits for 15k black arrow ticks while my dwarf crits for 11k, this is with full procs and identical gear but the dwarf doesn't have 2nd dps trinket for obvious reasons.

    In EU 98% of PvP dps classes are human for this very reason. You are either human or you do 30% less dmg.

    - Undead will be garbage if locks and priests arent strong ( thus not much use for will if you dont fight fearing classes constantly. )
    - Dwarfs will be strong for most healers and the added 2% crit dmg isnt that bad for dps either ( again if ferals are strong so will be dwarfs )
    - Humans and orcs will keep on being the go to race for dps unless the above two are strong for reasons stated.

    People play Human because they think Every Man For Himself is a "free trinket", which in actuality, it really isn't. Some people don't seem to understand that the Human racial is only as good as the trinkets it's compared against.

    id say being human is rather stronk, lets do some numbers. (lets say both horde and allies play with proc trinkets so we dont have to include those.)
    - on use trinket has 210 agility and 520 agility on 1min cd compared to 210 crit,spirit cc removal other races have to take.
    - non human rogue has 4412 agility baseline
    So when it comes down to bursting human has extra ~15% agility.

    Its up to you if 10% stun duration reduction,210 crit and 345 attack power every 2 minutes ( orc ) is better than some versatility 210 agility and 520 agility every minute. Personally id go human if my partners werent avid horde players.

    edit: usually orc racial seems to be much stronger at the start of the expansion but this time around its rather bad, also dont mention going undead when the fearing classes are piss poor in their current state.

    May finally be the time when I race change from Tauren to Orc. Racials aside, orcs looks so good now.

    That summed it up pretty, well. Afaik they still plan to nerf fears. And i am sure that won't do any good to spriest and locks. Pretty bad, cause after 2 xpacks with just melees i planned to play them again, maybe a miracle makes them still strong when the game is going to be released, but personally i cannot imagine it.

    Well for the Horde nothing has changed... GG Blizzard. Orc or Undead (depending on class), Blood Elf for Paladins. My windwalker is going Troll 'cause I just don't care. I am very disappointed in how Blizzard only balanced racials for raiding. LOL shocker huh?

    The viability of WOTF has been severely diminished both my the CD nerf and the new CC mechanics, so we'll actually see if Undead even have a place anymore. With that it mind it's actually ridiculous how much more attractive the Alliance racials look now.

    As its been said already. Alliance: humans for dps, ne or dorf for heals. Horde: ud and orcs. Zzz, gj Blizzard. Maybe next xpac, yeah?!

    Still shocked they nerfed will of the forsaken yet kept EMFH exactly the same.

    I predict dwarf rogues to be a thing in WoD with stoneform removing magic debuffs.
    This means that one can use cloak offensively and then stoneform for a clean restealth, because this ability is going to remove almost any debuff you can get in PVP.
    And don't forget you can remove Faerie Fire with it vs druid teams, so you have no longer just 1 restealth per minute (when cloak is ready) there.

    Another great combo I predict is Draenei DK
    20% naru heal + 30% glyphed heal + 50% death pact (after naru is finished) will be 100% health in 5 sec Essentially this means that you can take the talent that allows you to live 3 sec after being killed, and then magically restore full health a few seconds after somebody thought they killed you.

    Of course then there is gnome warriors for obvious reasons.

    The value of blood elf silence will increase a lot too, because afaik the 3 silences that remain in the game are garrote, priest silence and dk strangulate.

    The one race I don't see getting any better is night elf. It will still be good for whoever it was good, and still bad for whoever it didn't work.

    Dwarves look ridiculous, as do Humans. No idea why Blizzard thought that not nerfing EMFH and nerfing things like WotF was a good idea.
