To quote another oft-banned author, "it is a joy to offend the easily offended."

The hyper sensative nature of people today is one of the most pathetic things about modern society. Its funny how we tell children to grow tougher skin, when adults themselves become offended when something they don't like appears on tv or magazine covers or newspapers.
I use to be sensitive about being called fa*got public, but nowadays if someone were to do that, I'll throw it back at them asking if they want to kiss my a**hole. Give them as good as they dish out, don't take shit but don't become a whiny kid over it, we're meant to mature beyond that once we reach teens.

Then what should we call it? People getting upset over the use of the word "slut" or a lesbian kiss on Doctor Who are nothing but hypersensitive.

So because I say something on mmochamp, it must be the only place I speak out against things. Is this.. what goes on inside your head, how you see forum posters, contained in one microcosm? that is so interesting..

Funny, this question could be asked about the majority of the PC changes being made today, yet I guarantee you will find post after post on these very forums from overly sensitive individuals pleading for more of these type of changes.

If a woman is offended by the word "slut", then perhaps she should re-evaluate the direction her life is going. I imagine it was some femi-nazi group.

@bearshield I was referring to the actual book itself, roald dahl's revolting rhymes has been on bookshelves for several decades, and its never gotten negative complaint before.

I know, I was agreeing with you and saying that incidents similar to this have unfortunately become a common occurrence. All it takes is one overly sensitive loudmouth to be offended by something anymore and they ruin it for everyone else.

oh right. it just seems to be the thing now. The funny thing is though while this ultra liberal and ultra conservative viewpoints of DON'T OFFEND THE IMMIGRANTS/CHILDREN is in force to anything of public apparel, it also increases the jokes about these subjects in comedy shows and in magazines and online

Essentially three guys could have sex on a stage in a london gay bar, but you so much as blink at a woman wearing a burqa in the street and your considered offending someone

They just donated 10 grand so that a gay gaming convention could happen. Why can Blizzard not do anything to please anybody?

Oh wow, how cosmopolitan. Sorry we're not hip enough for you. The only places I've ever seen pornographic material for sale without any attempt to cover it up is at truck stops in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas, and some of the slummier areas of Mexico City. Where you live must be marvelous.
