    Suggestions for a Build

    Hi Everyone!

I have about $700~ budget, I'm located in America. I'm going to build from scratch but I don't have a clue regarding parts compatibility.

I would like to play WoW at the highest settings, but I just want to get through a raid with more than 5fps... which is what I'm getting right now. I don't need any other functions for the computer except maybe for programming in java or python.

For now, I have a 1280x1024 res montior that I'm going to use in the meantime, for parts I would need:

    -Case
    -Motherboard
    -PSU
    -CPU
    -HDD
    -Ram
    -GPU
    -DVD-RW

No aftermarket heatsink or SSD for now since I don't plan to overclock.

I was thinking about following the puppy build from the setup of the month frontpage but I was wondering if anyone else could come up with something better in the same price range, or rather to confirm that puppy is a solid choice.

I do need a OS too.

    Thanks for all the help.

This is more powerful than puppy or dolphin setup and the power of this cpu comes from its awesome overclocking ability. Otherwise its not worth it and thats why i include an aftermarket cooler. Its a 2 core and overclocked will play almost as good as an i5. The downside ofc, since two core, it will struggle at multitasking. Also the ability to upgrade to an i5 4690k when you can.

If you ain't going to overclock and won't be able to afford an i5 any time soon i would advise to go for an i3 setup. (note the Z97 still there cause the difference between that h97 board is small).

will this video card be compatible with those builds? has a good deal for now:

    It's the EVGA 02G-P4-3753-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card

My post count isn't high enough to make links yet sorry.

EDIT: It says it's compatible on the pcpartpicker site but I want a real second opinion. also is 8gigs of RAM that much of a difference from 4? Gamingwise that is.

The R9 270x has like double the performance of a gtx750ti.

The gtx 760 is like 10-15% better than the R9 270x.

8gb of ram is the standard, you may get away with it in some games with less but i wouldn't reckon it. Besides you need 2 sticks to activate dual channel so you would buy 2x2gb, then when you want to go to 2x4gb you have to scrap the first ones.
