If they do, I will not visit here. It is kind of quirky now as it is at times. With all the damn side advertising going on.:P

The whole internet slowdown thing to me, is asinine, what exactly is it supposed to accomplish, awareness?

I live in Utah, my duly elected representatives wouldn't listen to a rational opinion if their lives depended on it. And as long as you are endorsed by the republican party you automatically win.

All this is going to do is moderately annoy me for a day.

The point of it is to show what will happen if/when net neutrality is shot down. If the cable companies get net neutrality shut down then this is what it will be like to be on the internet. If you think one day will annoy you try imagine it being permanent.

Again, what exactly am I supposed to do about it? Congress is corrupt and nothing will change.

Make your voice heard. Grow a set and stick up for yourself and your rights. Like the rest of the pro net neutrality folk are trying to do

It's interesting that you would rather bury your head in the sand and let them walk all over you than actually sticking up with yourself. This is why congress gets away with everything they do corrupt.

Yiu do realize that most people don't know about Internet slowdown Day and all it's going to do is annoy and frustrate people, right?

I really don't know how slowing down websites loading help anything.

Its sad because its true. What has "writing a letter to your congressman" ever done?

That's the point. That's what will happen if net neutrality gets struck down.

I wrote a letter to my governor and got a page reply back 10 years ago, so um yeah, they actually do read some of those and reply. Immediate action isn't realistic but if enough people complain and write......

Ok, either its too early in the morning for me, or you're obtuse.

Let me state it another way. If at least 75% of internet users don't know theres a net neutrality protest going on, what the fuck is the point of doing a protest.

On their end, it's just the Internet having a slow day. Doesn't mean anything to them...

I've gone to town Hall meetings. I've tried to voice my opinion on a variety of issues. Unfortunately if my opinion isn't god fearing tea-party republican, it gets drowned out.

Not wanting to be Sisyphus does not mean I'm burying my head in the sand.

One person voicing their opinion doesn't change anything. Especially when its completely drowned out by the morons surrounding you spouting idiocy.

Well they only seem to reply/act if you are a community leader like a pastor/person of influence that can send some votes his way if he addresses your gripe, but that still isn't enough when weighed against campaign money from a multimillion dollar industry.

Internet denizens, people who would be aware of the slowdown, tend not to vote. I'm not sure why other than maybe they'd rather do something on the computer than get up off their butts and vote.

Internet slow down day is a protest day that's happening tomorrow. Basically websites who are participating will slow their sites down to demonstrate what will happen if net neutrality gets shut down.

Vote for what though. Its an "awareness day". There's ni voting involved. Its like Cancer Awareness doesn't make people get up, go study to be a doctor, and set to work on curing Cancer.

Well at least I know what websites to avoid now...
