How come the 9/11 slogan is "Never Forget" yet...

.. there's people that say things like "Slavery happened so long ago, who cares"?

    Serious question/thought..

What does slavery have to do with a terrorist attacks? I think you will find quite a lot of people care about slavery, past and present.

"Never forget" is also often used in reference to the Holocaust. Which also has nothing to do with 9//11's terrorist attacks.

Something that happened 13 years ago, killed 4200 people and led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Afghanis and Iraqis and the toppling of two governments compared to something that was abolished 150 years ago? Gee, i wonder which is more likely to be remembered by current generations?

I think a lot of people have forgot 9/11. The only reason I remembered it is because I saw it here on the forums.

Probably of the two, if we were forced to pick, we should remember Slavery.

Duh you'd never want to forget the police's emergency phone number in case you find yourself as the victim of a crime, unless you expect armed bystanders to come to your rescue with their colts horses and cowboy hats.

I was actually bracing my buttocks for today here and elsewhere when I looked at my phone and realized what day it was. But surprisingly...nothing. Until now anyway.

What do people normally do to your buttocks on 11th September?

I don't think your slavery slogan is accurate. Try again?

Lotta tragedy, it's best to forget but it's hard on people who lost family and friends that day.

Because nobody cares to dwell on it and ruin their day for no good reason.

No one is alive today that was a victim of slavery in the United States.

Plenty of 9/11 victims are still alive.

This sounds like a question that one very high middle schooler would ask another very high middle schooler.

The answer is obviously because slavery caused 9/11 and there was a huge cover up.

Because "Never Forgot" is more appropriate for merchandising than t-shirts that say "Fucking Rug Pilots."

"rug pilots" is used for comic effect, not actually trying to inject racism here!

I wish I was as naive as you to think that slavery is completely abolished in the world.
