Sexual Identification Should Not Be Pushed On People. It Needs To Go!

So we all know how being classified on our sexuality can effect how people view us dependiing on where we live. We also know that some people try and embrace the sexuality they are not born with. Some trying to say that they want to try and be sexually attracted to something else. And then there are people like me. Completely straight but really wished he could appreciate gay art "yaoi" even though I am straight. aka bi i guess. With medical science trying to find the "gay gene" and classifying people like they were born with some kind of strange disease what if we let the people decide how they want to be sexually identified. Sure many people will choose there born sexuality, but some might be like "I appreciate gay things, maybe i'll say I am bi." With the removal of sexual classification people won't have something to point at, there would be no fighting over whether he should be gay or straight. Let him decide. O'm really sick of people trying to force others to embrace any form of sexuality and telling them that if they don't something is wrong with them. Why? Shouldn't we have the freedom to be wwhat we wanna be?

Yes I know what youre thinking. No way, gay is gay, bi is bi, etc. But maybe some people just dont feel comfortable embracing a sexuality, and we should respect those people. Maybe the gay guy wants a mother for his kid to grow up with? Sexuality classification has no benefits other than medical related things. And in my opinion it needs to go. Then maybe future generations can go to school with a simple "You're a person who likes sex" and that's it.

Everything is fine among consenting adults in my opinion, except for furries.

People give too much of a flying f about other people's preferences

I don't even know why the world has decided that this is something that needs to be discussed. He likes the D, she likes the P. We all like something different. Big deal. Move on.

I guess my paradigms are different from the average person, but I just don't even think that we should find out what makes people gay, lesbian, straight... because, at the end of the day, it is none of our freaking business who the senator, neighbor, son... likes to screw

Your sexual preference should only matter to the people you are having sex with. The world is not that rational, however.

Furries are animals that dress down to look like humans. Something something petophilia.

yah, as long as both partners are ok with it then let them do it. If a gay or straight want to experiment. Let them.

But no, he was born an X, so he has to feel bad.

No such thing will ever happen in our life time. People always use labels for things in life. If someone is Gay/Bi/Straight/Whatever has nothing to do with me and I would not tell them what to think/feel in those regards.

I'm straight, and I went to Tokyo a couple of years ago with my best mate. We accidentally walked into a BL store selling many BL novels/DVDs. We got some very funny looks from some very happy young girls. We thought it was a general Manga shop until we noticed it was wall to wall BL stories. We both quickly left the store and burst out laughing at what just happened. Still cringe at it now as it looked so wrong XD

Things make a lot more sense if you consider sexuality a spectrum, ranging from liking females to liking males. I don't think anyone is 100% at any side, we're all technically bisexual in that sense.
"In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance." Paradox of tolerance

This is how I feel, really. What does my sexuality matter for anyone other than myself and those who want to have sex with me (if there are any, really)?

Besides, I feel like this has reached a point where we have way too many sexuality labels. I don't think we really need a name for every single combination of sexual preferences (or lack thereof) that we can find. Every time I see the LGBT acronym, more letters appear. It's like every week there's a new one added. I don't think we need a name for someone who identifies as straight, but is curious about the same gender. Or gay, but curious about the opposite gender. I don't know, maybe it's better that we have a name for everything, but I feel like it's separating everyone into different labels, way too many of them.

Which has only one possible end result: someone will say "my label > your label"

People love labels. LOVE them. This is not solely a sexuality problem; this is something everyone has to deal with at some point in their life.

The best you can hope for is that the label isn't seen as a bad thing. Like how the concept of 'geeks' is becoming mainstream and accepted rather than ridiculed, all you can hope is that the labels you care about become accepted as well.

We're working on it, and making progress. But you can't expect people to just ditch their labels entirely. It's not going to happen.

As long as there are two people in a room one will judge the other - get over it.

Why are you bothered by what others think? Who cares ...

If you're straight but want to watch a certain type of porn, go for it, no-one cares. Never understood why people need to make something out of nothing. If you've got your own fantasies and desires, enjoy them.

The problem stems from people making an issue about it.

You: "So what if I'm straight and I like watching two guys blowing each other!"
Us: "I was just was just asking if you wanted Mayo on your sandwich sir ..."

Sadly true. In fact, while I don't venture much into certain parts of the Internet... I already see this happening a lot. It's usually some loudmouth assholes, but sadly they drag the rest of the people under the same label along. One person within a group being an asshole doesn't mean they all are... but sadly not everyone takes the time to stop and consider that.

I....wat? Seriously, wat? On the off-chance this isn't a troll topic: A gay man cannot be straight. He was born gay, he is attracted to men, he is gay. He doesn't just decide to fuck women and call himself straight. That doesn't happen. If a 'gay' man does that then he is bi, not gay. These words do not make the people that sexuality. The words are there to describe their preferences and behavior. That's why you can't just label them whatever you want. The words are there specifically to describe their sexual preference, they can't be anything other than what they are.
