Server maintence whatever from 1:00-11:00. That is the time I usually play. (I have a weird sleep schedule.)
What do you do during maintence? Roll your thumbs? Freak out? Cry in a corner? Play something else?

This is during the work day where I live. So, I'm asleep when it starts, and working when it ends.
If maintenance is still going by the time I get home at 5PM, then that's fine, because I typically don't sit down to play until 9PM or so after the woman and kid go to bed, and I can play uninterrupted.

Those are sleep/breakfast/work hours for me. I can't remember the last time I was actually at home and online during maintenance - probably during the Christmas holidays.

This is pretty much the same with me. I don't think I ever had to wait for maintenance time to end except for a few times a long time ago. Like what ablib said, I'm either at work or I'm asleep when they are doing server maintenance so it doesn't really affect me. If however I was to have to wait for server maintenance I would just play another game in the mean time like my 3DS or one of my consoles (Xbox 360 or PS3). I have plenty of games to keep me occupied if WoW is down.

wow is a pc game..I dont care what time is maintenance. LOADS of other Real Life stuff too do. Heaps. Game is fun in its own way, but its Not my life, or earns me an income, or improve on education, socialising going out having fun etc. When its maintenance, I do whatever I feel like, read, movies, go bowling, go to the casino or play in online ones... cook/clean....... go too friends homes or family.... list goes on forever.
No point sitting there brain dead counting hours waiting for realms to come up and waste precious life.A woman should never invest in a relationship she wouldn't want her daughter in, nor allow any man to treat her in a way her son would get scoled for.

During the semester I only play on weekends, so maintenance doesn't really affect me.

Well, my typical work schedule is 9AM - 5PM Monday - Friday. I don't even usually start playing until late evening. Also in the Eastern time zone. So I'm not playing during maintenance hours anyway. Maintenance only affects me when it's one of those days where they have to do an "extended" maintenance that lasts until the later evening hours. Which is pretty rare, unless it's one of those big "a new expansion is coming" patches where more things could potentially go wrong.
