unsurprising. IDK why these states try to appeal when SCOTUS made it clear these bans don't stand up anymore. the whole "gay marriage" debate is going to put the rest within the next few years.

I think what he's trying to say is he's more worried about the much larger issues in the world today than this one. The world doesn't fall apart over gay marriage unless you're a religious zealot
That said, congrats to all those who are affected. I live in Oklahoma and this is one of the last places I ever thought I'd see gay marriage legal. Nice to see them being dragged kicking and screaming into the modern world. I have a good friend who is over joyed that he won't have to wait til he's a senior citizen to get married to his partner. There was really never any real reason to prohibit this except as a mask for hatred. The Constitution wins again.
What are my thoughts? Same as always when this happens: disappointed but unsurprised.
IDK if it's been mentioned yet but this also effects 4 other states. they all had their attempted bans shot down with this ruling. with 6 other states in the process of being ruled on (chances are likely they will end the same as this ruling). so we will be looking at 36 (correct me if I'm wrong) states that allow same sex marriages soon.
Eh, the 24 hour news cycle and hyperconnectivity don't help necessarily, but people have always felt the "world is falling apart." I can't remember a time in my life people weren't saying that, and they were saying it long before I was born too. Just look at the Billy Joel song, "We Didn't Start the Fire" if you don't think tons of crappy stuff wasn't going on in the mid-1900s.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
As a reminder, we don't allow sexuality discussion/debate here. However, since this is fairly major news, I realise that people will want to discuss this topic. So, in an effort to make sure dialogue can happen, please be sure to stick to the topic / legality of the issue rather than turning this into another sexuality debate.
THANK YOU GUYS

Hes disappointed because hes a Republican that can't tell people who they can or can't marry anymore. He's one of those that absolutely hates progress.

Nah Incredibale already posted. Saying its just another court that is legislating from the bench again. Meaning he didn't like it either.

You mean like Mississippi? I mean they just ratified the amendment that disallowed slavery in 1995 lol.
There was a thread quite a while ago where it was discussed which state would be the holdout. I think it pretty much came down to Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and maybe Florida or Texas.
Although -- I can honestly see it going in all 50 states as long as people get the support to file the legal challenge. Each ruling that supports marriage equality will make a ruling against it that much harder to justify.
I thought Texas's marriage ban was already over turned?http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.c...ediately.html/ Yes it was. So yeah I think it will be Alabama, Mississippi or Georgia since even Utah's was overturned already as well.
