Which specs are king between 6.0 and Wod?

Most sites and threads discuss which specs fare better than others in Wod but nobody talks about the period between 6 and WoD. We can't count in level 100 talents or levels/gear/abilities above 90 and yet we have an entire month where our guilds expect us to be putting out the deeps. So how do the level 90 specs fare in the 6.0 endgame? Which talents are shining and what dead wieght needs to be jettisoned?

Demo seems to still be the best, the stats for it is MS > Mastery = Crit = Haste.

How's Aff looking? I've always been Destro the entire time I've been a lock (BC if that matters) but if it's lagging too far behind then I'm switching over.

Aff is very different from live. The more targets there are in a fight the worse it becomes versus a Demo or a Destro due to the nerf to Soul Swap. For 6.0 I would recommend running Demo / Destro.

Demo is very strong even without it, and suffers much less from movement when compared to Destro.

Seems like it. I'll probably run Demo where I would normally run Aff in 6.0 and keep Destro for the 5 or so fights I use it on.

I'm leaning towards Demo/Destro also because of no more snapshotting and the shard cost nerfs for SS.

Prior to 6.0 I used Aff for Protectors, Norushen, Iron Jugg, Shamans, Nazgrim, Malkorok, and Thok.

For pure cleave fights like Protectors and Shamans I'll prob switch to Demo, for high movement single target I may switch to Demo, and just go to Destro for high AoE type fights. Gonna be an interesting first week in mythic seeing where all the specs parse in 6.0.

Cleared Mythic last night, played Aff/Demo. Both felt solid single target, top 3 on all fights competing to various degrees with Warrior and Fire Mage.

Aff multi dot is terrible and using soul swap destroys your rotation. The ramp up on Agony is just too high and you can't justify spending all your shards when e.g. a new wave of Nazgrim adds spawn. It was really good single target though, and it felt alright just spamming UA on short-lived adds.

Demo was great all around. The AoE damage is kind of out of whack, HoG is doing 2x-3x the damage of Immo Aura for me in all situations. The rotation felt much better not having to shift to demon form for each Shadowflame.

I didn't play any Destro, but I can definitely say either of the above specs are great. I just don't reccomend Aff for anything but single target. Kind of backwards, but hopefully they straighten out multi dot.

Edit: I should also mention that Aff was fine for Fallen Protectors. I just preferred Demo.

well i been destro for all of mop and now my dps cant even get up to 5k unless im aoeing, before 6.0 i was doing 158k-185k on average and burst dps up to 270k but now its crap. do i need to switch to demo now?

Does your guild really expect you to "Put out the Deeps," almost a year after everyone has finished the expansion? Or did you start like really super late or what because 6.0+ is a transition period; MoP has been done for a very long time.

well i been destro for all of mop and now my dps cant even get up to 5k unless im aoeing, before 6.0 i was doing 158k-185k on average and burst dps up to 270k but now its crap. do i need to switch to demo now?

Demo is very solid at 90 and especially at 100 with Demonbolt. The multidotting Dooms + Corruptions is insane, pulled 21.7k on Mythic Garrosh last night and had 19 Imps going into Phase 4. Very, very stupid.

In 581 I'm doing about 20k down from 400k, so 5k is probably right if you were doing 150-180k before.
