The 'Post How Ugly The New Character Models Are' Thread

So during WoD's development I've been occasionally popping into MMO-C's character models thread to check out the new designs, and they've been universally awful (aside from orc female, tauren male and dwarves). I've been bookmarking particularly terrible characters that people have posted for laughs, as I'm sure a lot of you have also been doing since the opinion that the new models suck is quite widely held. Now that Blizzard have inflicted the new models on the wider population, I'm thinking that a lot of people will be wanting to show off how bad their new characters look.

As a result I've made this thread for people to post the new character models that they find ugly. Don't be shy, share your ugly character pics and enjoy laughing at Blizzard's sheer incompetence with your fellow posters.

This thread is only for ugly pics and some related discussion. Blizzard-paid astroturfers who come in and try to derail this thread by claiming (when it's an obvious lie) that everything is fine, there is no problem and look: good-looking dwarf models your argument is invalid, it's subjective and Blizzard don't have the money to make good face models because they are an indie dev studio will not be tolerated. Go and make your own "post how fanboyish we are" thread if you want to do that. This thread will be a useful resource to link to when arguing with devs and posters about how good or bad the quality of the new models are.

I really do think the new models are atrocious. They are so hilariously bad (especially some of their expressions), that pics of them alongside captions could go viral like lolcats. I think the modelers should be fired or demoted. Somehow new models made for 2014 tech are worse than designs from 2004...

Don't make me cite games from 2012 and 2010 and 2008 that still had better faces than WoW and actual slider customization like Guild Wars 2, TESO, Tera, Aion, Warhammer Online, Age of Conan....

Right now WoW's new character models are on the level of Star Wars Galaxies, a game that came out in 2003 before WoW

I'm really not all that satisfied with the way my female Night Elf runs now, I can't quite put my finger on it but something certainly seems off to me when I'm playing her.

Most other MMO's are more realistic, so the looks are going to reflect that. As stated, WoW is cartoony hence the cartoony style.

It's really a shameful outcome, certainly they could have done it better as they should have realized by now. This whole model revamp is so rushed up that it's not an upgrade but a downgrade over what we had already. And the funny thing is, I've seen blue posts talking about how many polygons they've added into the new models as an argument to get away from the critics, be it constructive or not.

A) I'm a balding Zombie, I've always been ugly.
B) Your inclusion of faces from Black Desert are completely pointless, as Warcraft has always had a very distinct, cartoonish look. Those faces are not Warcrafty in the sliiiiiightest.

THAT BEING SAID - I can't seem to find myself happy with any of the Human Female faces (their body models are fanTASTIC, though!). They all have too pronounced bones and too gaunt cheeks. Just doesn't look right. Other than that, I think everything is 100% an improvement.

Most of those arguments are subjective. Technically speaking, everything is a clear and obvious upgrade. Whether or not you like the way it looks now or before more is entirely subjective.

Question, the faces the female NE is making in the pics you posted. That's fake right? Please tell me they're fake.

If anything they're emote faces - faces you see for a second when you do something very specific. I can tell you with 100% certainty that none of the female night elf faces look like that by default. All races/genders have had true facial animations made for emotes.

I think they really fucked up with human females. Way too much cheekbone while the old faces were more round and feminine. Not to mention the eyes are almost identical across all new faces.

the bouncing is terrible. I'm glad other people have noticed. The character movement is completely unnatural. I guess i haven't kept up on the beta enough but it's really bad.

They ruined all Alliance females. Only Orc, Troll and Tauren females look decent. I'm not looking forward to what they'll do to Blood Elves.

EVERYONE must disable the "Show new character models" option. Boycott them all!
