    Help! 1000$ budget including monitor

    Budget - 1000
    Resolution - 1920x1080
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)? Yes!

I'm looking to stay right at or just under 1k for this build. I've built it over and over on newegg/amazon but I feel like I might be missing something. You folks have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    You need everything mentioned here?

DO you need an OS to be included?

Which games do you mainly play?

I don't need speakers, but I do need a monitor. I can get a mouse/keyboard setup that I can deal with for 30$.

Edit: And I can go 1100$.

You didn't mention Windows so I didn't included it, no DVD drive either (~$15-20)

This is the only GTX 970 in stock currently (according to the vendor) so if you decide on this pick it up quick.

Will this work or do we need to adjust it slightly?

If you forego the GTX 970 and pick up a an AMD 280X (still perfectly good for 1920x1080) then we can get you a nicer modular power supply and a 1TB HDD for storage.

Thank you for your help! I built something very similar. My budget was pretty strict, and with taxes I couldn't afford to go with the 970 in the end. I'll upgrade my GPU later, probably around tax time.

I was completely sold on doing a bitfenix prodigy build. z97, 600W EVGA PSU, 4670k, 8gb Crucual 1866 RAM, Crucial M500 240gb SSD, r9 270x, a dell 24" IPS monitor and a gaming keyboard/mouse I liked for 1049$ shipped. Amazon and newegg both charge taxes, at least in my state. So that hurt my budget a little. I didn't even know the 4690k was out, but I'm not too upset. With the z97 I can easily overclock when I liquid cool it. I plan on doing that around the same time I buy the new graphics card.
