hunter pets now, what to keep in stable?

So with the onset of the changes, what pets(buffs) now... I'm using these
    Wolf or raptor for crit
    hyena-haste
    dog-stats
    scorpid-healing debuff...
    Netheray-heroism or lust

I won't take a mastery pet, INB4 that bad joke comes up yet again, i've abandoned my sporebat.

Currently enjoying MM again after the major regemming.... ugh
The sims lies, don't trust them....

Change this to a carrion bird, make it a raven, rename it "crow" then glyph stampede. Now you can have your cake and eat it, too.

One pet for each of the 8 buffs + Moth/Crane for Battle Res (I believe it's currently bugged) and Nether Ray for Heroism/Bloodlust/Ancient Hysteria/Time Wrap. Not sure if the Mortal Wounds Debuff is also worth keeping around.

Moth, because resto druid might not be in range and all dps role cr are never used because it's dps los.

annoyingly the mortal wounds debuff appears to not be autocasting atm.
Slaying 8bit dragons with 6 pixel long swords since 1987.

Are there any pets that should be in a stable right now?

How about them ones that give 2 or more buffs, Rylaks, Clefthooves?

For BM I'd go with the following:
    Shale Spider (Stats/Crit)
    Rylak (Haste/Stamina)
    Clefthoof(Multistrike/Versatility)
Spirit Beast(Mastery, Default pet when all buffs are covered)
Quilen (Crit, Brez) or Core Hound (Multistrike, Lust/Hero)

What do hunters need in their stable for Warlords? I assume we want one pet to cover each buff. So, just get one pet from each of the following lists. It's a maximum of 14 pets needed now, if you include the non-buff things like a slow or MS. Plenty of room for other fun tames and collecting Spirit Beasts. Do note that most Exotics fall into more than one category, so if you're always BM, you can narrow your "required" pets list down quite a bit.

These are the categories that I would definitely get a pet from, for raiding:

    Stats
    • Gorilla
    • Worm (Exotic)
    • Shale Spider (Exotic)
    • Dog

    Stamina
    • Bear
    • Rylak (Exotic)
    • Silithid (Exotic)
    • Goat

    Spell Power
    • Serpent
    • Silithid (Exotic)
    • Water Strider (Exotic)

    Haste
    • Sporebat
    • Wasp
    • Hyena
    • Rylak (Exotic)

    Critical Strike
    • Wolf
    • Raptor
    • Shale Spider (Exotic)
    • Devilsaur (Exotic)
    • Quilen (Exotic)
    • Water Strider (Exotic)

    Mastery
    • Cat
    • Tallstrider
    • Hydra
    • Spirit Beast (Exotic)

    Versatility
    • Boar
    • Ravager
    • Bird of Prey
    • Porcupine
    • Stag
    • Clefthoof (Exotic)
    • Worm (Exotic)

    Multistrike
    • Dragonhawk
    • Wind Serpent
    • Corehound (Exotic)
    • Clefthoof (Exotic)
    • Basilisk
    • Bat
    • Chimaera (Exotic)

    Mortal Wounds Debuff
    • Scorpion
    • Carrion Bird
    • Riverbeast
    • Devilsaur (Exotic)

    Heroism/Bloodlust
    • Core Hound (Exotic)
    • Nether Ray

    Battle Rez
    • Quilen (Exotic)
    • Crane
    • Moth

    Optional pet categories:

    Movement speed slow
    • Spider
    • Warp Stalker
    • Silithid (Exotic)
    • Crocolisk
    • Chimaera (Exotic)

Temporary Dodge Buff (May be beneficial for tanking pets)
    • Monkey
    • Fox

Temporary Damage Reduction (May be beneficial for tanking pets)
    • Beetle
    • Crab
    • Turtle
    • Clefthoof (Exotic)
    • Quilen (Exotic)
    • Shale Spider (Exotic)

Need to grab a goat and a hydra for the non BM options. (have at least one from the other categories).

But WoD does have some new looks that are interesting - like rylaks, new wasps and... toucans!

I think this is a better set:
    Core hound (multistrike, hero)
    Worm (stats, versatility)
    Spirit beast (mastery)
    Rylak (haste, stamina)
    Quilen (battle rez, crit)

That way you don't need to choose between battle rez and heroism. You could swap the quilen for a water strider in order to have every possible buff to hand, but spellpower isn't often needed.

I find this extremely funny that ppl can't read, I said nothing about playing or returning to BM...

crane or moth... okay I can live with a crane... already have two hydras(both old models, outland and azeroth versions) for mastery...

Thanks for the spreadsheet, really nice!

What's best pet for soloing on BM hunter btw? Obv spirit beast if you need the heal, but just in terms of pure power? Ignoring lust, seems to be clefthoof (multi/vers), worm (stats/vers) or shale spider (crit/stats). I'm guessing shale spider is best, and if you got forgotten kings drums clefthoof?

Shale spider is the best BM pet for solo'ing (stats/crit/solid shell) when a spirit beast isn't needed yes. The clefthoof's defensive CD is not nearly as good as the shale spiders; nor are the two buffs it provides. *waves goodbye to turtle*

I'm running under the assumption that people with the same question as your title- What hunter pets should I have in my stable now?- will be viewing this thread, so I wanted to provide a complete list. It's not like the information you needed isn't there! There's just some stuff that can benefit other people as well. It's not always a case of "omfg they didn't read my post?"

And someone else in the thread asked about pets that provide two buffs, with a link to a BM hunter in their signature. The only person I see talking about BM pets specifically was responding to that person, not to you.

Thanks. Was kind of hoping for clefthoof, looks awesome next to my goblin. ^^ Shale spider pretty cool too though.

    Two kind of pets:
    -The pet you like
    -Rare/unobtainable pets
And my stable is already full as it is with these.

Thanks Daetur , that list is very usefull. I just cleaned out my (full) stables , abandoning everything except for a few rares i don't want to get rid off and tamed one of every buff category. +1

That does look like a better setup, but I don't like Worms.

Regardless, I'd say the most important pets for non-BM are:
    Crit, Haste, Stats, Multistrike, Versatility.
