Having a computer built, would like some opinions please.

    Hi,

I'm having a computer built to upgrade from being a laptop user for the last 5 years and would like some opinions on what I've picked out so far in terms of how it will perform.. I'm fairly positive it'll easily run wow, but I'd like to be able to run other current (and future) game at medium to max settings aswel. So far, it will cost me around 1260euros with what I have (my budget is around 1300euros):

Case: Cooler Master CM 690 III
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 4790 3.6 GHz
    Motherboard: MSI B85-G43 Gaming
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 760 2GB
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600
Hard Drive 1: SSD Crucial M500 120GB (for Windows and other "booting programs")
Hard Drive 2: 1000 GB Sata III HDD (for games and everything else)
Cooling System: Cooler Master TX3 evo
    Sound Card: Standard 7.1 Sound
    Wifi Card: TP-Link 450Mbps
Power Supply: 700 Watt Cooler Master
Operating System: Windows 8.1 NL 64Bit
Accessories: Sharkoon Gaming Keyboard + Mouse

Thanks for your opinions - input in advance, it's much appreciated

Seems I missed the "computer build help" section, I apologize.. If a Mod would care to move my topic there, that'd be great

should be quite fast, it'll be able to play wow on ultra nps. i dunno if its worth looking into maybe faster ram 2133 maybe for the extra kick, i have a tx3, it keeps my a8 at 70 on the thermal margin when idle and between 44-50 on load, maybe the 212 would be worth the extra few bucks if you plan on OCing. i would think its definately this generation proof you shouldn't find a game in the next 5-10years which that build can't run at least 60fps. but you'll probably easily get your refresh rates. on any game not frame rate capped. not knowledgeable on nvida gpus but i think you might be able to get a better one for about the same price. like maybe an r9 280x

If you only plan on using your pc for gaming I would drop the i7 and get an i5 4690k and use the money you saved to get an gtx 970. You would have a much beter future proof pc for gaming that way.

Drop the CoolerMaster PSU, defect rate is high or it's maybe just me and people I know.
Go with a PSU of no more than 650.
Drop the i7 unless you're really going to use the PC for rendering and heavy load, absolutely not gaming. If yes, go with the K version.
Drop the 760, it's old engine by now, and since you'd like to be some future proof and the prices aren't "that" much of a difference go with a 970.

Like the others said, go with K series either way. Drop down to 4690k if it's just for gaming so you can afford a 970 with it.

I will add though, avoid B85 with Devil's Canyon CPUs. I'd suggest a K series with a z97 Board for overclocking it.

Instead of Cooler Master, I'd suggest a Seasonic PSU personally.

Get an intel wifi card. Can never go wrong with that.

Lastly, I'd suggest an MX100 SSD over the M500.

What keyboard are you using? In my opinion, you should always go for a mechanical keyboards over rubberdome, and I have never heard of that brand before, but they seem to have multiple different "gaming keyboards".

drop the i7, get a i5-4690k, a bigger ssd and please don't waste your money on a 760, at least wait another few weeks for the 960 or if you have to get it now, get at least a R9-280(X), lower price better performance.

Thanks for the input so far guys, based on that I've made some adjustments (mainly for the case, memory, processor and graphics card):

    Case: Cooler Master Silencio 550
Power Supply: 700 Watt Cooler Master voeding
    Cooling: Standard
    Sound: 7.1
    Hard Drive 1: SSD Crucial MX100 256GB
Hard Drive 2: 1000 GB Sata III Harde schijf
    Graphics: AMD Radeon HD R9 280X 3GB
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 4690K 3.50 Ghz
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB DDR3-1866
    Motherboard: MSI B85-G43 Gaming
    Wifi: TP-Link 450Mbps Wifi kaart
    OS: Windows 8.1 NL 64Bit

I simply can't afford a 970 on my budget, and don't intend to (see the reason to) overclock as I don't really need it with my "goals", hence the slightly lower quality motherboard. Seeing as I've been a laptop user for a long time, I don't really expect much if that makes sense? I just want something that will be able to run any game I'd like to play currently (wow, diablo, battlefield, etc) and in the future at a good level without having to worry that my specs won't even reach the recommended level.

This build would total around 1,280euros.

if you don't plan and won't overclock then, although some said take the i5 4690k (rightfully so) then the 4790k which is clocked alot higher at stock might be for you. For 1300 euros you should be able to fit that in the budget. Is that in netherlands judging fron your list?

Oh and you need a Z97/H97 board for newest cpu's.

It is in the netherlands, yea. And would I need a Z97 for the i5, or is that if I would go for the i7?

Edit: To make it easier, here's a link to the build and the list of parts I actually have access to: http://gamepc.nl/game-pc?tab=configu...31F4Jo6001GpO2

Something like this would be better for the budget if your only option is that prebuilt. Better GPU power and unless you have over 300Mbps bandwidth then the wireless card i chose is plenty. If you can cough up the extra 75 for the 970 I Would HIGHLY recommend doing so. Like...it's worth every penny of that 75 bucks. If you went with the 970 you could probably even drop down to a 500W PSU and save you a little bit.

Buy a CPU cooler as well when you can so that you can overclock that CPU. Not an immediate requirement though.

go with this if you're not going to overclock. don't spend the extra on a k series and z97 board if you're not going to tinker. Seems like this is more of a set it and forget it build.

Can't you build yourself? All those 1300euro builds are not worth it imo. You should be able to get a i5 4690k/Z97/gtx970 |(those are like 700euro) build plus all the goodies.

    - - - Updated - - -

For comparison's sake lets see what you can get out of 1300euro:

    cpu: i7-4790K 314€
cpu cooler: be quiet! Shadow Rock 2 40€
    mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer 128€
    ram: G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-2133 Kit 77€
    ssd: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1, 256 GB 98€
hdd: Western Digital Blue, 1 TB harde schijf 55€
    gpu: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G 359€
    psu: Seasonic M12II-620 EVO 80€
case: Corsair Obsidian 450D window 100€
    -----------------------
    total: 1250€

The above contains all the good stuff and more. You can have it for less by getting the i5 4690k but since you don't want to go into overclocking then the i7 is overclocked for you. You can cut down to cheaper case-cooler-ram if you want. Mainly want to give you an idea that with your budget you can have nice things that in that link above you don't.

Website is one i use regularly for ease, for rig proposals, cause its in many different countries in eu. You should check for cheapers ones obviously.

    - - - Updated - - -

i'll make it more complete for you:

    cpu: i7-4790K, 4,0 GHz 314€
cpu cooler: Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo 30€
    mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI 100€
    ram: Crucial 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit 68€
    ssd: Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1, 256 GB 98€
hdd: Western Digital Blue, 1 TB harde schijf 55€
    gpu: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G 359€
    psu: Seasonic M12II-620 EVO 80€
    case: Corsair Carbide 200R 55€
    wifi: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800, WLAN-Adapter 40€
    o/s: Microsoft Windows 8.1 NL 99€
    -----------------------
    total: 1298€

With an i5 4690k you go to 1200euro and you take those 100 for better case, mobo, ram were you feel like transitioning the gain. Or just save the money.
