How does the 100% heirloom drop rate work?

So I've done them on both my toons that have already received a heirloom, and they didn't receive one. I had talked to a few other people and some peoples group had over half their group receive a heirloom in mythic even though they had already received one.

Is it 100% chance in each difficulty your toon has not received one? I'm so confused altogether

Did Character X receive an heirloom on Y difficulty before 6.0?

If Yes, that character will not have a 100% chance on heirloom post-6.0 for the Y-converted difficulty.

If No, that character will have a 100% chance of an heirloom related to their loot specialization on their first Garrosh win post 6.0 on the Y-converted difficulty.

So if an alt has not killed Garrosh in any of the qualifying difficulties for the heirloom, that toon has a chance to receive 3 guaranteed heirlooms?

I'm not sure if they hotfixed it or not, but last week, I got a Doomblade on my Mage on the second kill of the week on Tuesday (obviously not guaranteed because it's a STR sword), and a Tome from another kill on Friday (also not guaranteed as off-hands are never guaranteed). I did kill him 5 times yesterday on my Mage and didn't get a single Heirloom though, sadly.

So, unless they stealth-fixed after Friday, I can confirm that he does drop heirlooms on subsequent kills in the week.

Removed the part of your post that didn't matter. But yeah, replies #2 and #3 answered that question. It really is that straightforward.

I am pretty sure they stealth-nerfed it; I ran heroic 7+ Garrosh only runs and some normal ones aswell yesterday afternoon (30hrs ago). I did not recieve an additional heirloom to the 100% one I already got this week.

You could also just be very unlucky, sadly

It could also work in a way that you only have a chance to get one until you actually get one in that week.

Not 100%. Just a chance, but even if you already killed it this week.
But could still be a bug, since it wasn't mentioned by Blizzard anywhere.

You still can receive Heirlooms from Garrosh even if you have a loot lockout.
I killed him 22 times last week and I received 2 Heirlooms (Int Shield + Agi Dagger as Hunter).

Did you get both on the same character and difficulty?

During the last reset I have killed Heroic Garrosh roughly 70 times on the same character and I have received 3 heirlooms. One of those dropped for me on Monday. Also, that character wasn't eligible for a guaranteed heirloom.

I thought the drop rate was supposed to have increased but those numbers don't make it sound like it. I guess it wasn't really bad luck that I killed it 7 or 8 times yesterday and didn't get anything.

Random is random. I haven't gotten a new heirloom in the last 15 Heroic Garrosh and 2 Mythic Garrosh runs I've done on my Warrior since the pre-patch.

Killed Garrosh (HC) for the 8th time today and got the bow on the 8th kill, so it's not "fixed" (If it's even a bug)
