I haven't seen any confirmation on this yet (I'm bad with updates), but if it's true I think it's a step in the wrong direction. It adds flavor to socket your gear. Not like it's hard, but dumbing it down too much with gear and spec choices is bad. Cookie-cutters will always exist, but I like puting some thought into how I want to enter an arena.

There won't be sockets by default on any gear.

They will be a random bonus (similar to tertiary stats).

Tertiary stats (and sockets) cannot appear on PvP gear (or any gear purchased from a vendor), and will be disabled in battlegrounds, arenas and challenge mode content.

There won't be any profession where you will gain stats in PvP anymore, it is all removed when 6.0.2 hit.

Yes, they've apparently removed all combat perks from professions. However I'm not sure how that works with Engineering belt tinkers (I know they are disabled in arena and battlegrounds, but they are still a PvE advantage).

So all we do now with pvp gear is enchant it. Seems kinda lame, but k. At the end of the day it won't matter much from my perspective.

Nitro boost (Engineering belt tinkers) now share cooldown with pots in PvE, meaning if you use nitro you wont be able to pot on fights.

I'd imagine it's so PvP gear isn't BiS for PvE.

no sockets for all! sockets are a rare proc on gear (like warforged / thunderforged) , and adds very little secondary stat (best sockets are 50, and worth several days of jewelcrafters daily cds). Dont bother with them, nobody will have more or less sockets /customization than you in pvp.

What will JC be good for, I keep wondering. Actually what will any profession be good for? Just making gear that is replaced by pve/pvp anyway?

It appears they've also cut the speed boost down. It's either 70% all the time now, or 70% in raid instances (previously 150%). Might still be 150% outdoors, unsure. But yeah, they won't really be useful anymore except on fights where movespeed is especially important.

the Bomb Girdle Tinker works at lvl 100 pretty fine, so its another short stun / interrupt. Only useable in random BG`s and Ashran

In a way it's a step in the right direction. Quite frankly it annoyed me how PvP gear was basically on par with the same ilvl gear for PvE when it was much easier for me to obtain. If PvE gear is near useless for PvP, then why should PvP gear not be near useless for PvE?

While I might miss gemming my gear, it really didn't do anything besides adding yet another unnecessary thing to look out for.

Plus, in a way, this might be easier for blizzard to control and balance, even though I had this exact same thought with PvP power and PvP resil, yet they did not do anything with them class-specific wise. I felt like they could have tuned PvP power/PvP resil much better for certain classes instead of changing the damage/dmg reduction of abilities and mess with PvE. But hey, who am I?

^ I like the transmog on ur monk

Err, yeah, I can agree that pvp gear could be made a lot weaker in pve than it is now.

They failed to find a fun use for professions that didn't give them grief with balancing so they have rendered them useless.

It's slow everywhere, not just raid instances. On the bright side, I haven't had a malfunction since the patch.

Edit: Speed is apparently random, as well as duration.

It's still a 150% increase outdoors, can pretty fun, but in raids/pvp it's essentially a rogues' sprint that shares cooldowns with pots.

I personally think PvE gear should dominate PvP gear in dungeons and raids, but PvP gear should dominate PvE gear in the open world, battlegrounds, and arenas.

I just hope that "tertiary" statistics on PvP doesn't mean it'll be random, I don't want any "chance" involved when obtaining PvP gear. Raiding's already random enough, and close to Diablo as far as gearing is concerned...
