What's been your best habits to make gold!

Long story short been playing since Vanilla and I am always broke. On my server things are being sold an traded for hundreds of thousand of gold and I'm sitting with 1200 gold consistently! And I want that to stop in Warlords!

I recently leveled up all professions on my alts and main while bored. My main being my warrior with BS and Mining, and Mage with Tailor/Enchanting duo but I have all the others as well.

Just wondering what a good money making focus will be and good habits that people are willing to share and discuss!

    Thank you!

Personally, I just do some soloing. Vendor anything that' trash or BoP, the rest I
auction as mogg gear. Is it in any way the most efficient? Nope, but it's fun and
    I still make decent coin.

Get an AH addon that shows you how much each item goes for on your AH. I sell everything over 50gold, the rest I vendor. The more you play the more you will end up making.

How you can end up with only 1k though is beyond me. You probably spend way too much on stuff you don't need. It's a miracle you managed to level up enchanting/tailoring/blacksmithing on that budget.

First: Loot everything. And by everything i mean EVERYTHING. Even that stupid turtle you just one-shot. Get a looterang, make a keybind for it. Ability pruning allows it. Get in the habbit of pressing it as soon as something goes down.
Make a bank alt. Everytime you pass a Mailbox you send EVERYTHING to your bank alt. Get Postal. It allows you to ctrl+click items to all items of that typ into the mail box.
Make it a habit to go through your Bank alt one per week, preferably on a weekend.
SELL everything in the auction house. Even shitty green BoE's and and single pieces of leather.
Get an addon like auktionator or auctioneer. It will tell you how much stuff costs. Don't do the prices yourself. let the addon take care of that. Its supposed to be like 10 Minutes a week. So, fill your bags, go to the AH, spam a button.

Get an addon like vendor bait. For quest rewards it will highlight the most expensive item. This is usually the difference between 5 (ring) and 25 (weapon) gold.
Get an addon like autoprofitX. It will sell all grey items automatically as soon as you click a vendor.

If you have alts, get their daily cooldowns done. Buy the mats when they are cheap (in the week, early in the morning. etc) and stockpile them. Do the cooldown and sell the product on the weekend.

Save gold on repairs by not dying all the time. (get the dagger if you raid. Put vanish or feign death on your bar. Get the bubble heath glyph. all that stuff).
Stop spending your money on bullshit. That includes Battle Pets, Mounts, BMAH. Getting rich comes from not spending.
Don't lend people money. They never pay you back probably. Also don't be cheap on Flasks, pots, etc.
If you're the guy that constantly needs a trade of flasks in the raid, people will think of you as "that guy" and are less likely to donate one.

NEVER EVER argue anything to ANYBODY that you don't have a lot of gold, too. They will treat you different. (just like somebody that is bad at parts of the game. Like running out of the fire).

Look how you can maximize loot. Get the darkmoon adventures journal, if you pvp a lot. Books sell between 100 and 200 one week at a month.

Do at least some method "getting rich scheme". The game is balanced around it. Blizzard expects you to find your nice and fill your gold bags. So if you want to be that AH guy, do some AH. If you're the guy that runs low level dungeons for rare transmogs, do that.
If you loot and sell pets, be that guy. If you can boost people for PVP or for CM's do that.
If you want to farm embersilk in tol barad, do that. Otherwise ride around on WoD and collect herbs and minerals, duh.

Limit the time you spend there and log it. Write it down and compare with other methods. Stick to the method that has the most return.
    Try another one, next month.

Sell everything that you don't need. That iron starlette you just got for the quest chain. SELL IT! (keep it if you're into pets...)

Sans some exceptions every item in the game gets less and less value over time. Sell them early. If you're always broke chances are you're bad at judging what gets valuable in 2-3 patches.

Selling in the AH is all about getting things actually sold. If you want to post an item 5-6 times and wait in front of a mailbox? Fine. You just lost more gold then the item was worth. Undercut considerably. 1c undercutting is for a different set of people.

    Good luck!

Traded pets from Realm to Realm at MoP launch. Buy, learn, cage on another realm and sell. Azure whelps in particular were 18k on Sylvanas Alliance and 3-4k on Jaedenar Horde.

I doubt I will need gold in the near future... or in the next 10 years. Mind boggling that not many people did this when shit was still expensive.
There's another currency I probably won't need because of those pets but it isn't allowed to say it.

Stop spending and just play the game. Pretty much everything you do in-game except for PvP and wild pet battles will give gold.

I'm not great at making money with professions but I love running old raids and that seems to get me more than enough gold for my needs

I made several times the gold cap mostly by selling old world twink/boa enchants and other item enhancements.

Get the phone armoury app. It's so easy to list items, especially when you're on the bus or whatever. I make quite a bit a day just selling all my shit once a week on all my characters.

Also solo old raids for mounts/legendarys. Solo FL25HC nets me like 2k (takes like 30 minutes!).

This, selling the pets that drop can net you a fairly large amount of gold depending on the demand on your server in addition to any gold you get from the bosses and vendoring loot. Naxx25 takes me a little over 30 minutes and nets me 800g just from vendoring the drops, add in whatever you can make off any pet drops you get and it comes out to a fairly decent amount. I'm gonna expand it to Cata raids once I reach 100 (some of those are really rough to do on 25H@level 90).

    Nah.

The #1 advice is - MEASURE YOUR GPH. And do the thing that maximizes it.

For example, many are saying - do this and do that and do that other thing, loot everything, do quests, bla bla, it all adds up. It does add up, yes. But if instead of doing all those things you actually measure what is the most profitable one and do just that one thing, you will bring more gold, frequently much more.

Now, of course, the #2 advice is - measure responsibly, because there are diminishing returns. But the gist is still the same - measure, measure, measure.

I've got all the classes at max level (until tomorrow, lol). I think I had maybe 8k combined across all of them. They all have maxed out riding skills/flying skills and I don't really spend gold on anything besides mounts (most of which I've managed to get). I just never really solo'd or tried to farm gold. If my friends weren't online playing, I went and did something else.

Over the last month I have been chasing down some older raid achievements and whatnot so I have been soloing old raids. I've made a ton of gold that way just vendoring drops. Now I see how a few friends of mine have amassed small fortunes (on top of selling some things at very opportune times).

I'm still hovering around 10-15k but I am also at the point of buying some more expensive mounts so it'll spike up, then down.

The only one I've really had any issue with at all is Spine and it's mainly due to forgetting to dispel the Corrupted Blood.

Loot everything. Use your professions. Get auction house addons like Tsm, or use what I use auctionator with auctioneer. Spend some time trying to earn gold. You'll soon find out that it's not that hard to do.

Made my gold by selling game time and expansions :3

  15. #15
if u can, solo Dragonsoul/firelands in 25m and vendor all drops. except the boe's of course. ( i stop at spine for ds cuz its too slow to solo on lock but ya)
old cata raids are easy to solo as well like BoT and BwD. Ulduar and ICC tend to give ok gold and naxx of course. if u dont have a vendor mount u should get one when u can afford a cheap one like the one in dal or whatever.

I had 4 leatherworkers in mop, started selling crafted 496 gloves during tot and sold crafted belts during soo. I made about 900k by pretty much just doing daily cds.

As said before, Loot everything, every single thing, You'd be surprised how much G that can accumulate, Run old raids/instances, Try to learn the market, See what certain materials sell for, how much certain BoE sets/epics go for, then check the AH regularly, see if you can snap them up, Buy bulk, When you see someone selling stuff, haggle them down, that can work wonders, I hit about 500k by just doing those things,
Then I started using my JC and enchanting, and hit goldcap soon after lol, If I had known it was so easy to make gold with profs, I would've started many moons ago, I don't know how the prof changes will affect things in WoD, I won't be playing WoD personally, but that's the best advice I can give

My main farms herbs and my alt mines ore. I spend an hour a day (or longer) doing this. I also play the AH on my bank alts. I use the 'auctionator' addon to help me set prices.

I currently have over 800k gold between all my characters. Yes farming takes time but it worth it.

You can send pets across realms, but what about the gold?

At the start of each expansion I use two scribes to make trinkets and sell on the AH. By the time the price drops I've made a considerable amount and use that to fund all my toons for the expansion. I don't worry about making any gold for the rest of it...but I usually end up around 100k by the next one. Not quite sure how that's going to work out now with the garrisons as I have no experience with them on beta or anything and haven't bothered to read much.
