Getting sha crystals from Warlords of Dreanor Epics

I've been disenchanting all the gear i am getting from quests and rares. And it seems that the epic's give you sha crystals still? Is this intended or?

I wondered if it was to keep the highest WoD crystals rarer, since the quest reward roulette seems quite generous about giving epic upgrades, though I don't know why they wouldn't just give lesser crystals like the blues. It does seem odd.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something important about the sha crystals, there's a guy on my server who's buying them like crazy and I can't work out why

I recently sold ~250 of my banked sha crystals for 110 gold each, AFTER wod dropped. No idea why either. W/e though I guess, I don't need them and I like the gold :P
