Just how bad can mages be in PvP

Not talking about anything ranked or instanced. But I am unable to defend myself against pretty much anyone who comes after me in the wilds.

Frostbolt has 2s cast time and gets constantly interrupted, it deals insignificant damage, it's only use is to fish for procs and hardcasting in PvP just doesn't happen.
Constantly slowed/stunned/rooted before and after blinking.
There's some arrow flying behind me when I use Greater Invis. 95% of the time that instantly breaks it.
Roots break immediately and Deep Freeze is just a joke.

It is already too sluggish and Multistrike dependant in PvE and everything 1v1 related as a mage is just a joke.

Bait the silence with a hard cast frostbolt, sheep target, invis, mount and run. Mages aren't a very good 1v1 class right now.
