Obama Admin Colludes with Univision for Amnesty Announcement?

Networks Aren't Covering Obama's Imperial Immigration Decree -- Except for Univision
And, one wonders if that isn't precisely how Obama wanted it.
Perhaps he didn't bother making an issue of it with the networks. He has previously complained a lot when networks declined to give him free time.
By the way -- this announcement will be made on the night of the Latin Grammies. The show will be delayed 15 minutes for Obama's announcement.

You didnt even bother to write with your own words but just copy and text from a funny webesite. What exactly do you want discussed?

Do you suppose it might be that Latinos tend to care more about the matter than the general populaces?

All you see on spanish channels is Obama commercials talking about amnesty for illegals.

Hmm I don't know. I think we should be kicking these illegals out not giving them drivers licenses social security numbers and bank accounts.

I have no idea how you read what I wrote and thought this was a response.

Yep - here it is: http://ace.mu.nu/
I think he said it better than I did. Should have attributed it. Won't happen again.

What I want to point out is that I think this stinks of corruption. The admin knows that this move is unpopular with legal citizens, and that this is Hispandering to an extreme degree. Hence, they've timed the announcement to get maximum exposure with the one group that will love this idea while minimizing exposure to the population at large.

What is preventing the networks from covering it exactly?

He was giving you the view from the "general populace" you asked about. Saying the general population cares less about immigration than latinos is probably true but but that's like saying 85% is less than 99%. Accurate sure, but misleading when you imply that the 85% is a small amount.

Nothing's preventing it. They declined due to the timing and the short notice. Both of which I'm thinking were intentional or acceded to by the Obama office with little pushback so as to keep the announcement to the desired media outlets.

I understand the need to do something regarding immigration, but the timing of this decision just reeks of backlash from the mid-term election.

I don't think most people care near as much as you credit them for.

Right..or they realize that most Americans switch the channel when any president has an address and they would rather keep their viewers viewing. The address will still be on major news networks, live streamed, and on PBS. No conspiracy here.

EDIT: Here is another way to look at it... The GOP obviously pressured these networks not to air it because they want to be in control of the release of information on the topic of immigration reform.

I am not an illegal, nice try though.

There's no collusion. If there was, we would at least be expecting an uproar from Fox for not being allowed to show the president's address.

Univision's CEO is known for his position on immigration. This guy believed America should take in all the children during that child migrant crisis. I'm sure he's had a fair amount of influence in making sure the address is aired on Univision.

Yeah, its clearly just poisoning the well (hate to use a phrase that I know Repubs have been spewing, but its accurate) for the new congress.

Then tell your friends to watch it on CNN, MSNBC, FNC. If they don't have cable or internet they can watch it OTA on PBS.

When would be a good time? I hope you don't think the republican 'plan' of illegal immigration is actually a legitimate alternative to what we are planning on doing.

Oh look another conspiracy. Jesus Christ after six years you would think there was some credible evidence of the 'imperial' president and all of his scandals. The move isn't unpopular with legal citizens.

And I cannot wait for your evidence to shows intentional non-disclosure and widespread corruption between the television networks and the Obama Administration. How many conspiracies are we at again?

Wow, this thread is like anti-Obama talking point central. I'm sure these illegals elected him to office too.

I think it's more like anti illegals.

I'll wait to judge the Repub plan when the new Congress actually goes into session and drafts something up. That would be a good time, ideally within the first 6 months...that could be what Obama wants too, I haven't ruled out the possibility that he's just trying to rustle the coop to stir Republicans to a sense of urgency. I guess we'll find out later.
