WoW's 10th Anniversary Live in the US and EU
WoW's 10th Anniversary is now live in the US and EU and will last until January 6th. It has a level 100 version of Molten Core, Southshore vs Tarren Mill battleground, a Molten Corgi and some other nice rewards. This year's Celebration Package hasn't turned up in the mail so far, so don't plan on that 10% experience boost.

Molten Core - 40 Player Raid Finder Difficulty
A special level 100 version of Molten Core is back! You can queue for this 40 player Raid Finder experience if you have an item level of 615 or above. Make sure you have some time available when you start, as this is the full Molten Core raid. Blizzard is working on fixing whatever is causing groups to be kicked out of the raid before it is over.

Rewards include an item level 640 helm, mount, pet, and special weapon transmog illusion that isn't consumed on use and works on all non ranged wepaons. The mount and helm are the only guaranteed drops, as the pet appears to have a ~10% drop rate and illusion ~3%.

Southshore vs. Tarren Mill Battleground
This 40v40 battleground lasts an hour or until one faction has 10,000 points. It is a limited time event that could return again every year for the anniversary. The more players you kill without dying in the battleground, the higher a temporary rank you have. The ranks are named after the old PvP titles and do not have any real reward. The higher your rank, the more points a kill gives.

Molten Corgi
The Molten Corgi will arrive in your mail if you log in during this event. This pet has a nice idle animation.

You can get a pet, mount, and title from the 10th Anniversary achievements.

The problem is that we constantly get kicked out of instances, proving grounds and LFR MC.... So I'm not interested in spending an hour, just to get kicked again and start all over...

The fact that the Illusion and Pet aren't 100% is going to make me go insane... Especially when these runs take over 3 hours AND you can get into one that's 10/10 and it will give you deserter for leaving... Ugh.

I was actually looking forward to doing it tonight but I'm only ilvl 597 currently.

For all the loot it gives they could have made the ilvl requirement a bit less.

I guess for once I'm one of the lucky ones - got in last night and completed it. The raid leader was a sadistic jerk, but competent and everything died. Got the mount and the helm. Not sure I want to run it again and only have one level 100 anyway.

They are. In addition, the last boss of an instance will always drop a piece for every player.

Completed the raid without problems, but the BG was a mess. Ranks resetting for the opposite team, our kills were only worth 1 while theirs were worth 10+

Only thing i experienced with getting mass kicked with everyone else.. Has to be the worst experience i have ever had with a game this week. None stop crap after crap sort it out Blizzard we are paying customers. I don't want to pay for some second rate service even Rift and other games do a better job!

Southshore vs. Tarren Mill is increadibly unbalanced. I have been spammin ques all for 8 hours and every singe time I've been crushed by Alliance. I would like to see a change where you only have to finish the battleground, not win.

You have a month and a half. It wouldn't take much effort at all to get to 615 by then.

Lol @ people moaning about battleground length and unbalance and the MC trash taking forever.. People asked for classic.. This taster is nothing, no lagg like back then most people's PC can cope. Like most classic players will say, it was not that good then and it wont be good now.
