Combat Rogue need help with PvE DPS

Hey guys I"m currently an ilvl 627 Combat Rogue needing help with my DPS in heroics. At the moment I'm not able to even break 10k DPS according to recount. My rotation is the one that is used on icy-veins.

if it was the one used on Icy Veins then you'd be able to break 10k DPS at that item level, especially considering fights are so short. The only other way people are going to be able to help you is if you can post some logs and your armory.

    637 ilvl Combat DPS

A simple single target rotation on a boss pull

Marked for Death --> S&D --> Adrenaline Rush --> Reveling Strike (RS)--> 5 pt Evisorates (keep S&D up all fight & RS) --> KS during deep insight
That alone should have you bursting for over 25k without a hero, pot, flask, etc. With all that I've hit 40k on burst.

There are some more technical (advanced if you will) ways to go about playing combat, but this alone should help you produce some solid numbers.

    I'll try posting my armory

Are you using any addons to help such as Weak Auras or Rogue Power Bars (for example)? Are you keeping Slice and Dice and Revealing Strike active at all times? Are you forgetting to turn off Blade Flurry during single target fights?

Very basic rotation- Use Anticipation and Death from Above

    Keep SnD up
    Keep Revealing Strike up
Use Death from Above whenever available
Use Killing spree whenever available (regardless of insight)
    Use Adrenaline Rush whenever available

If you're going to use MfD, you want to be doing 4-5 CP Evis though I'm honestly not sure why you'd take MfD over Anticipation for Combat anyway, being able to pool your CPs is fantastic not only from a QoL point but also for the sustained DPS one, which is what really matters.

OP: It'd be easier to see your gear so when you can post your armory. If you're low on haste, still using BoA weapons or any gear from SoO it will really hurt your damage. I'm at almost 20% haste now (641 ilvl) and I'm starting to see quite a bit better damage.

As for the IV rotation I'd stick SnD and KS in before using RvS. Ambush>SnD>KS>RvS>AR+SS

*I have not played around with DfA yet, this is with VZ.

With what was stated above, I can't stress Blade Flurry control enough. You do not want to have it activated on a single target fight and if there are fights where there are multiple bosses, be sure to toggle it off if you can not hit the other boss and toggle it back on as soon as it comes into range. Don't just be lazy and leave it on while you wait for him to venture back. The only exception to this would be if toggling blade flurry would cause the cooldown to activate and not be able to be toggled on before the other boss comes back (I.E. if the boss only does a charge to a random ranged but is back within a couple seconds).

Always try to use Killing Spree BEFORE Adrenaline Rush. The extra Evis you get from the AR will reduce the CD on KS so that it should be usable again rather quickly into the fight.

Using Weakauras as stated above also helps when knowing when to pop CD's... Is that trinket that increases your agility about to pop in a couple seconds? WAIT to use your KS or AR until it pops!

Timing your CD's with your trinkets as well as insights can help a bunch. I.E. the difference between popping a KS in Moderate and Deep Insight is noticeable. 2 Sinister Strikes away from Deep Insight?? Don't pop KS yet. SS the boss two more times to get that deep insight and then go HAM :-D

To add on to the poster above me, Haste is your best friend right now since we are so energy starved early on in gear progression. Don't go strictly for iLvl... If you have a 630 heroic piece with Haste on it but are already using that Heroic WF 636 item without haste, I would gladly replace the Heroic WF piece with the haste item (Unless the Heroic WF has Mastery and Multistrike at which point I would have to do a quick Stat Weight calculation. But that's getting down to the nitty gritty :-D)

I would have to go with what Dextar said above about DfA vs VZ. I've tried both, and while DfA is fun, the high energy cost at the moment doesn't make it feel worth it. VZ on the other hand almost eliminates the energy regen loss when Blade Flurry is active and you have 3 targets poisoned.

Should i use one fast weapon and one slow or just go dual slow?

If we are talking about heroics, definitely go for MfD and DfA. MfD enables you to get 5 combo points per trash mob and DfA refunds you with 2 CP +1 for every target hit, meaning a lot of finishers and nice dps. In a raid single target environment you'd prolly want to switch MfD for Anticipation for better combo point management, but in heroics there's no better combination for a rogue then MfD and DfA atm...
Regarding the weapons, you want two slow weapons, but having one slow and one fast isn't gonna hurt you that much as before.

Was going to say what Gorefel said in heroics MfD and DFA is by far the best two talents, your damage especially In aoe packs is unbeatable.

What I normally do for heroics (not saying it's perfect, but it's been working very well for me)

    Stealth.
Activate Blade Flurry (if >1 target)
    Tricks on tank
    Ambush
    Revealing Strike
    Slice & Dice
SS until out of energy (usually 1 or 2)
    Killing Spree
SS -> 5CP Evis (keep S&D up) (I have Anticipation)
Use AR so that it will last through deep insight.

I played Combat a lot in SoO and I'm sort of having trouble with it in dungeons

In SoO trash DPS wasn't that important, but in dungeons and in regards to CM times it's more important. I'm pretty sure I know the rotation on boss fights, but I'm still a little unsure on trash.

On trash, say the first pull, should I still use KS after I get SnD and Revealing strike up? Then follow it up with AR? Assuming the pack is big enough (4+ mobs) and will last for the duration of a full AR? Also what kind of numbers should I be expecting from a 635 Rogue, for example in single target/boss fights and in pack fights such as 3-4 mobs. I'm really confused on when I should use KS/AR during trash because unlike in SoO there's no AoC or a ton of haste so there's a lot of downtime in between KS/AR.

I am also disappointed in my DPS, some of you are mentioning add ons to help manage things like weak auras...I downloaded that probably a month ago but I haven't actually turned it on because I wasn't sure how hard it would be to configure...what have you guys experienced? How hard is it to configure? Are the base profiles you can download for it or does it do anything like smart-detect your class/spec? Just curious where to begin...I took off MoP and use to use Power Auras which were great (but again took significant config time)

Also I've made a note to look at Rogue Power Bars!
