I've never seen such toxic behavior from players in a while.

My god, at least in my server, if you ask a simple question you get labeled an idiot, etc. In my experience garrisons are very confusing at first. A lot of players seem more obnoxious than ever in this expansion. Has anyone else seen this?

its the start of an expansion and everyone expects people to either hand feed them answers to simple questions or google it for them and then go back into the game and tell them....

Around Wrath, it seemed like everyone left and gave their accounts to their little brothers or something.

You can't let it get to you. Just hold onto the good people you meet if you can.

Only in dungeons and it's not all too common. Just ignore people like the second guy on the thread and look for the decent folks - they DO exist. If your guild is that toxic I'd leave and find another one. Usually guilds with older players are less likely to give you daft answers to your questions, at least in my experience.

There are hundreds of Garrison guides out there and mmo-champion itself has an amazing guide.
Some people just hate those who can't read and expect others to spoon feed them.

Don't let it get you - do your own research and you'll find much more than people in-game could possibly tell you.

This is pretty normal behavior for people in this day and age. People act like its exclusive to online etc but in all reality seems more like a social issue as you'll experience it out in the world too.

Not sure why people think its better to be a massive douche instead of answering a very easily answerable question but what can you do.

Not on my server, people actually are answering questions asked in general and trade chat much more frequently and accurately now.

Garrisons can be confusing but the answers to any question you might have regarding them can be achieved with simple searches most of the time. Now, don't get me wrong, that does not mean I don't think you should have ALL right to ask the questions in-game and have some friendly people give you the answer, but you gotta understand that the same questions are often asked again and again untill eventually even the most helpful of people will tire out from answering it.

Back in Vanilla and to some extend TBC you had TB which held some answers to some questions and that was it - people HAD to ask eachother. Today finding answers to almost anything is as simple as doing a google search or finding a guide on WoWhead (And if there's something there's plenty of it's game guides to anything!) so I'd really encourage you to use those tools before asking questions..

I've asked one question this expansion so far in a general chat. "If I aquire the BoA Stormwind Guard uniform items from the Dwarven Bunker and send them to an alt, will using the item on the alt cause the item to bind to said character or can it then be further traded to another character for use?"

The answer is no, it does not bind. You can use it on as many alts as you like. Nobody had the answer in the chat, google was not very friendly with the answer at the time so I just went and tried it =D

Could just be your server. Very rarely do I see that kind of awful behavior on Feathermoon. So far it's usually really polite.

I've noticed a lot of assholes too, I don't think it's new. There are just more people playing at the moment. So many trolls and jerks in general chat, but honestly if you have a question wowhead usually has a very in-depth well thought out guide on it, and it's silly not to use those resources.

WoW has had a rather toxic community for a long, long time. There are certainly worse communities out there, often by far, but I think the sheer volume of WoW players is what particularly lends WoW to feeling particularly toxic. It's like the difference between wading through a pit of acid and being caught in a gentle spring rain of shit. WoW's toxicity is largely based on it's anonymity. ie: you get a little shit from everyone. Other games toxicity is very strongly sourced from a group of specific players.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

no, actually, people on my server are showing a priestly level of patience and restraint while answering the same retarded questions over and over again.

Only thing I would change is the mouth-breathing plebs who can't be assed to read the damn quest text.

Very few people are massive douches and this isn't anything new or related to the web. Anonymity has always made us behave less carefully though. You have had poison pen letters for hundreds of years for example.

I always asked myself why Blizzard keeps this tiny minority of ass hats in the game but never got an answer or was able to think of any reason at all. For sure they are costing more than what little subscription fees they pay.

OP, pretty much the worst thing you can do for anything even mildly confusing or complex is to ask trade chat. You will usually get 2 abusive responses, and 27 that contradict each other. If the answer to the question isn't yes or no, trade isn't the place for it.

Yep, same for me. The only people I interact with are my friends, guildies and people I actually meet or talk to out in the world. People in general are my least favorite thing about WoW. Funny how that works.

But, if someone asks me a question about something I always try and answer politely if I can. I'm honestly not really sure why anyone would do otherwise, but whatever. Not everyone camps external websites obsessing over information about a video game they play that should already be present in-game.

Same for me as well OP my server is ridiculously toxic, Argent Dawn EU it's all but convinced me that vast majority of roleplayers are weird narcissists that l wouldn't trust with a pair of safety scissors.

My all time favorite is when someone is doing a quest wrong or in the wrong spot you see in general "Is XXXXX bugged?" I've gotten to the point of answering with "Yeah oh yeah it's definitely the quest bugged not that you're in the wrong spot or doing something wrong... no it's totally the game bugged"
