I can't imagine how having a sense of humor somehow makes you less interesting or fun to be around. I don't think I've ever been able to maintain friendships with people that have a hard time laughing or cracking jokes.

I would suggest rereading what I typed then as I clearly separated what I would consider as "less of a person" from my statement about humor levels. Sort of a "This is what I consider X while this is Y" kind of deal. Besides I would be a hypocrite as I have a bland sense of humor and would tell such jokes despite trying to tell a rib-tickler.
