Is it beneficial to have a combo of professions like skinning / inscription?

my thoughts were to use skinning and sell the raw mats.

and just buy cheat materials for inscription and make glyphs.

or... i could use the mats for skinning and do LW (this is on a plate toon though) and sell the gear.

im not sure which would net me more gold, which is my main focus.
