Stealth Blacksmithing Change?

It is December 2nd 2014.
I am an Enchanter / Miner
Today, in my garrison forge went to craft a Smoldering Helm.
Yesterday, this cost:
5 Truesteel Ingots
10 True Iron Ore
10 Blackrock Ore
Today it costs simply 60 Blackrock Ore.

I was using my BoP Truesteel Ingots to make helms and DE them for the dust.
Now, these cost WAY more ore, and are no longer a way for me to use my Truesteel Ingots.

I checked the Blizzard Website, and there are no patch notes, no news of changes. I scoured the forums and non-affiliated sites, but still found no mention of any changes.

Can anyone please tell me what's going on here? Reasons for this change; and the reasons for not announcing these changes?

Should those that built the forge be refunded their gold and resources now that the functionality of the forge has been changed? I do believe so!

You Do realize that you were basically doing it wrong...? Right...? It took 50 of those ingots and you disenchanted them for a few dust?? You could save another 50 more and make a 640 weapon or armor piece that sells for far more than that. Dust is hardly difficult to get now. I have close to a thousand of the crap! And truthfully it doesn't cost a lot more... 15 more ore and I am pretty sure someone said you could use 30 true iron in place of 40 blackrock, but I am not totally sure of that. Anyways, use your BOP materials to make stuff to sell on the AH... not for fodder.

Yes, this is a stealth change, and it applies to other professions, not just blacksmithing.

I burn through 3 daily for my research token, then another 5 per work order.

If you bought dust from the AH, even at high prices it was, and sold the ingots (by crafting something useful), you'd likely be up in gold. Way up. Just saying.

5 ingots = 12 dusts, 12 dusts = 480g? x 10 = 4800g

50 ingots = 1 Epic 640 Armor piece or 1 Rare 630 weapon = 20,000-75,000g depending on server.

Do the recipes still go grey at 600? That's the real problem with almost all of the professions now, there's simply no way to hit 700 without using a ton of BoP materials.
