They really do need to nix racials and ilvl in arena settings imo

the entire idea of 'arena style combat' is that everyone has equal footing(I mean, as much as you can with class/spec imbalance) and it becomes a contest of skill

Why they don't just rework EMFH into something else and add "Freedom of the horde" and "Freedom of the Alliance" as base abilities is beyond me... It's such an obvious answer. (And keep the 10% damage reduction of trinkets to keep them always top choice for pvp). And maybe rework pvp trinkets that would normally break CCs to more stat choices instead for more pvp stat flexibility.

Noooooo, they will instead explain to you and me and others that we are stupid and those players in the top 50 are stupid, and we just can't see that the two PVP trinkets that include the one with the EMFH bonus are always best and EMFH is a non-issue...

Maybe they will finally fix it in season 20, maybe not. If WoW even survives to this point...

It's also possible it's just better players playing human to get the max benefits. You can't get carried by EMFH. They'd still be fairly high if they weren't human.

That's what I was going to chime in. Most of the best players I know are playing humans, and they're the people who immediately dove into the season once the servers came up yesterday.

Blood Elves rival Humans as far as Horde population goes and their racial isn't very strong but I'm not saying this is a non-issue, just that there's other variables involved than just the racial. Otherwise, I don't find EMFH to be as strong as it used to be, but I still think it could be changed nonetheless.

Nobody in the top 100 is going to be picking their race based on looks. It's also very normal for high end players to use a rather popular extension that changes your character's race too. It's all about the racials.

With that said, I don't think racials should be removed from arena. EMFH just needs nerfing or replacing.

News flash: there will always be min maxers. People will just FotM over to what they think is the next best thing, and we'll be in the same spot. It's why all the top PvE guilds are Horde. Only way to fix it for good is to remove racials entirely. Personally, I'm against removing flavor from the game just because people can't stop themselves from min maxing. Even Blizzard has lamented the fact that everything has to be so meticulously scrutinized, as players seem to ignore fun and personal preference in favor of doing whatever everyone else is doing.

Racials should have already been taken out of the game years and years ago. Race should only be a matter of aesthetics, should have nothing to do with affecting stats/abilities.

Blizzard just makes too much money charging people for an obscene amount for faction and race changes which takes a 10 dollar an hour employee 5 minutes max to do (if the system isn't totally automated by now).

Banning racials would be such a cheap solution. Things like Arcane Torrent, Warstomp, Shadowmeld, Blood Fury etc all add to the game. An extra equipment slot does not.

i realy like how US players were starting to realize in the last couple of month that human racial is op. In eu it has been since cata that u are forced to be human if competitive pvper, i mean they have 1 itemslot more than their nonhuman opponents, and their burst hits like 10-20 % harder because of this.
