    Item Funneling

Am I the only one who thinks that Blizzard needs to address this?

Is it healthy gameplay when a guild kills Heroic Marg'ok 5+ times in a week using twinks or fanboys to funnel all loot via Lootmaster to a few main raiders?
Average raid ilvl 667 after the first id is a joke.

Maybe Blizzard should enforce personal loot for raids even if there will be whiny guilds that claim to get bad loot distribution.

WTF do you care if other people want to run it 5 times?

Their choice if they want to do it 5+ times a week. Personally I don't care. Although I would get upset if they enforced personal loot for raids...

OP, you've watched too many streams, you need to get out of the house sometimes... get some fresh air. Mythic raiding and world first races are not for you, even watching them gives you weird ideas. Try watching cartoons.

It sucks if you are competitive in raiding but like others say who cares if they do it 5 times a week, it's their choice.

Lemme guess, you would totally compete for world firsts but you don't have time to run the raids multiple times?

All Olympic Games participants should also train the same amount that the guy that trains the least does, right?
And people who work more/harder should only earn the same amount as the minimum wage part-timer.

I agree that competition should be 'healthier', but i don't think that we have a problem that needs a solution. Those players have the time, are willing to play that way and are fine with the loot system... although i could see with good eyes a forced personal loot for the first weeks in normal & heroic, as long as there is a way to get the upper hand, a competitive player will always use it.

Is it just me or has this been going on since forever?

To all of the people in this thread saying 'it's their choice if they want to run the same thing over and over'... let me just say as a player in a top 200 guild this is pretty much mandatory in order to compete for server/region firsts and a high ranking. The amount of gear achieved from it is totally absurd. I absolutely hated leveling so many alts and raiding every night this week, it was awful, but it's almost essential to get a good start in mythics and snowball from there.

Yes I think it needs to be addressed, players don't like doing it (but high end guilds HAVE to) and their content will also last much longer if they put in a fix. Anyone remember the first 8 bosses in siege of orgrimmar heroic falling in under 24 hours to top guilds? Yeah, they all did 5 raids. It's just not right.

We have players in my guild with 660ilvl after 1 normal and 1 hc clear and no gear funnelling at all... If your QQing about 7 ilvl then there may be bigger issues really.

We only leveled 1 alt for gear funneling each, and that is after 20+ people answered a forum poll saying they wanted to level alts. Otherwise it wouldn't have been forced upon us.

No, it was pretty much invented by Paragon towards the end of WOTLK, and became mandatory for world first guilds by Firelands. Now it's begun spreading from just top world guilds to 90% of guilds in the top 200-300. Also from 3 funnel raids during FL to now 5-6 for the top, and 2-3 for even mere world 300 guilds.

Do you ever worry that at some point you are not enjoying the game anymore?

Before the camps, I regarded the existence of nationality as something that shouldn’t be noticed - nationality did not really exist, only humanity. It's a good question but no, although I feel quite burnt out after this week I know next I can just enjoy mythics on my main next with only some heroic raids and probably at the end of the week.

Well, no one forces you to be in a top 200 guild. If you want to be on top then sacrifices have to be made. I think it's a fair trade-off.

Congrats, but they have everyone at 667 not just a hand full.

I'm in a top 150 guild with no item funnelling... It's mostly top 10-20 guilds who do it!

Of course no one forces you, and every player can evaluate the pros and cons but I don't see why gear funneling needs to remain in the game. Also there is an added benefit on blizzards end, that being content lasts longer as players won't have 5 weeks worth of loot in 1. Why do the two have to go together? It never used to be like this, and again people obviously understand the sacrifice and choose to because they don't want to raid casual but I guarantee the majority of players would prefer not to have to do funnel raids but again it is almost essential as it gives weeks worth of loot in 1.

First of all thanks, but I did raid for world firsts in the past.

Second your comparison makes no sense at all. Olympic athletes can't train with alternate bodies and funnel the rewards of the training in just one body.

When you collect a pay check from your boss you can't do that 4 times in a month either.

Item funneling leads to unhealthy progression paths, it leads to faster content clears, which leads to frustration of other guilds at all sorts of levels that can't gear up fast enough to keep up due to time limitations.
