    War Mill is useless?

So I have no interest in the transmogable gear from the War Mill, as I think most of it looks horrible. I build it because in the description it says I use it to upgrade followers items and gear, and I really need that as most of my followers are currently 615. Now, I have completed 20 work orders for the War Mill (which is 400 GR!) and I have gotten one single Weapon Upgrade (+3) from it.

I don't understand. The description said the War Mill made follower upgrades, not that they were randomly given to you! Now I have a useless building spitting out 1-2 Iron Horde Scraps which I don't want that is a GR sink for a chance at a 1/20 item. This is highly deceptive to me, and I think they should reword the description completely.

Are you checking your War Mill cache as they trickle in or checking it once a day? I find I have better results when I check it once a day or less.

The war mill / dwarven bunker have a CHANCE to give upgrades, and also at level 3 they give a free seal for the week. I'm enjoying mine quite a bit, just this morning I got an epic and blue (9 and 6 ilvl) weapon upgrades.

It's 100% worthless if you don't want the transmog gear. At level 3 you get 1 of your 3 Seals per week from it, but with the combined gold+GR you spend upgrading from 0-3 you could just buy those Seals anyway and have another building there. The thing is, all of the Large plots are worthless.

That said, after you've gotten all your things to rank 3, there isn't really much use for GR, so it's easy to pour thousands into the WM.

    Rng.
Then again I kinda agree that the droprate from the workorder seems to be a bit tad too low for that description.

Yea you are either having a string of bad luck or just exaggerating. I almost always get 1 or 2 weapon upgrades per 24 hours. Once in a while I don't get any but it's pretty rare.

Most of the time it's scraps but occasionally there are 645 weapons or armor there too.

I guess my faith in RNGesus is being tested once again. I just wanted an easy way to get into Raid Missions, and I thought it would of been faster then what I am experiencing so far.

There's not really any good alternative, I'm dumping it soon for the Stables though QoL > RNG.

spamming missions yields far more follower upgrades than the war mill, its handy having for the free raid roll every week, but then i buy all 3 of my rolls with apexix crystals anyway :/

recently my dwarven bunker has started dropping 2-3 epic to rare upgrades. before this week i was getting maybe 1 uncommon every 3 days

RNG is what i imagine this to be.

Also the transmogs are really great for mix and matching. Cloth sorta, Leather for sure and plate most definately.

not too sure about mail though, :#

When I first started using the war mill I got a high number of follower upgrades. Last few days I've gotten like 1 a day. Used to think it was the best ever, now it's the worst. rng?

I find the exact same thing. If I go and get them 1 at a time, I can go 2-3 days without getting a follower item. But if I collect them just once a day or every other day, I get LOADS of upgrade items

I dumped War Mill once I had enough follower gear to 100% my first Highmaul mission.

Should've dumped it sooner because mission spam + SY has me swimming in more follower gear than I need now.

Blizzard: Bosses now also have a chance to drop ponies! A pony makes your character better.
    Players: AAARGH ponies are RNG!
Now it's even harder to be perfect. /unsub
They should just make ponies baseline.

    Barracks, Stables, War Mill.

Build them in that order IMO.

You didn't complete all those work orders AND THEN upgrade your War Mill to level 2, right?
I believe you start getting the follow gear at level 2, might be that, or, alternatively, you're the unluckiest person on earth

Don't listen to these guys RNG is RNG and anecdotal evidence is bullshit. Check it whenever you want it doesn't change how many upgrade you get.

The follower upgrades do come reliably and the War Mill seems a more reliable source of them than the Salvage Yard. If you have a couple of scavenger followers (preferably with a Group Damage counter) then you will have plenty GR to feed your War Mill.

I don't know why someone would complain that the War Mill is "useless" because it does exactly what it says it does.

    Yes.

War Mill is useless. Already replaced mine, no point having it. If it gave a '4th' seal or gave higher chance for sockets\warforged on raid gear, sure, but its horrible in current state.
