Post Looking for some help with Razer Naga.

    FIXED

    Hey guys,

I got a Razer Naga 2014 edition for christmas and downloaded the Synapse 2.0 for it, but instead of letting me customize the buttons like the program supposed to do, it won't detect that I have the mouse plugged in from what i'm understanding from it. I've contacted the Razer support and it takes a day per response and wanna see if someone else had the same issue here and maybe a fix for it.

Here's what it looks like, but it supposed to have options like http://www.razerzone.com/synapse/

    Things i've tried:
    • Uninstalled and re installed about 8+ times, (both the Razer Core AND Synapse 2.0) and did reboots in between.
    • Reinstalled Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (also rebooted)
    • Held left click + right click + mouse wheel in and plugged it in and got download errors.
    • Tried 6 different ports, 4 in the back and 2 in the front
    • Also tried it on a friends pc and it worked like a charm, perfectly. Every aspect worked.

I've done tons of browsing but can't find a fix, help if you can please.

    Thanks

When googling this issue found that the guy who had similar problems got a new/replacement mouse which works correctly so it may be a faulty mouse, if you have access to another pc you could try it on that one, if the problem persists it definatelly the mouse

Was really hoping it wasn't faulty but I thought the same thing since i've tried basically everything. Only option I have left would be reinstall windows 7 incase there's a problem there somewhere and that'd be annoying

When I upgraded to windows 8 I had the same issue with Megalodons and Naga. The fix for me was a simple external usb hub. As soon as I tried that all, my woes disappeared.

Just tried it on a friends pc and it worked like a charm, everything worked as perfect as it looks on the website. Def something on my pcs end and not the mouse being faulty.

You are able to use the basic mouse features?

What driver is listed under the device in Windows device manager?

I think you have the "common" driver installed, and you need to go to device manager and manually update the driver to the synapse version.

Tried that too, just now again for good measure :P

The best driver software for your device is already installed.
Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date.
    HID-compliant mouse

    Thats the standard Microsoft driver.

In device manager rightclick on the HID-compliant mouse, select update driver.

Choose "Browse my computer for ... " -> "Let me pick from a list ...."

If your Naga doesnt show in the right list, check if Razer is listed in the left window. If its there just click it...

    "Next" ...

    Fixed.

Turns out it was some old registry errors, had to reinstall windows 7 so wasen't too bad, pc is running smooth as a brand new one again so win win I guess.
