He had an Xbox One, that explains his attack on PlayStation. It's like the Ford versus Chevy debates of old.

Xbox Live was hit, too, though it recovered faster. I'd wager all the idiots of Lizard Squad have one console or the other, so this was less about attacking a "rival" console and its fanbase so much as it was "we're going to fuck everything up and make as many people miserable as we can."

Lizard Dumbfucks got outed by another " Hacker Group ", released all their information. I think two in Canada were also arrested. Serves these douches right.

The group has a lot of posers in their mids that want to ride on the attention wave and have no technical background and are gladly thrown under the bus.

The actual criminals that are part of a criminal group and actual hold the know how, are untouched. Why do you think the last time arrests were made it didn't dented them at all?

Hacking can be used to do great things, Anonymous has for example exposed and given a lot of aid to agencies such as the F.B.I. or Police Services in search for pedophiles and child abuse rings. But as always, there are people in Anonymous, or this Lizard Squad who think it's funny to just fuck around with people.

Taking down the PlayStation Network on Christmas is just a jerk move... Hope these little shits get some serious time.

It's not a jerk move it's done to collect money from companies on the market that offer protection against such attacks. It's all about money and nothing about sticking it to the big companies for their weak security.

Not every hacker gets caught eventually, russia for example has an unwritten that states "as long you do not hack russian companies and sell their secrets and all your activities exist out of russia and no russia citizen is effected, you do not exist for the justice department, have a good day and enjoy your criminal activities!"

And russia never hands offer their citizens to other countries. It's a hacker paradise for a good reason.

Good. Serves him right. They were ruining millions of players' game experiences right before the summer vacation ended.

Land a job? it's called contracts, you expose vulnerabilities and expose them while humiliating them publicly. it's often case were the one who spreads the disease is also the same person selling the cure, in a figure of speech.

This is a know practice in cyber crime. And yes you also have people who do this legally but they get hired by the companies they will attack and they don't spray it all over the news were their weaknesses were.

Some companies offer rewards for finding and proving any security flaws in their systems.

However, I highly doubt either Microsoft or Sony consider bringing down their online servers over the holidays is worthy of a cash prize. Finding and proving the flaws exist is what gets professional hackers cash, not actually exploiting it.

Am i writing in a different language? Because i'm fairly certain i called them criminals in to for monetary gain and not in it for the sake of merely exposing things to make "others" aware about the weaknesses in the system they are using.

Unless it helps another company land a contract that offers ddos protection.

Also microsoft couldn't care less, ddosing a cloud based server network is like ddosing google, you'll have fun for a short while but eventually the server capacity grows that much virtually that it becomes nothing more than a minor annoyance and the tech people will simply go "meh".

Wasting tax payer money on catching those is ridiculous.

Hackers get hired when they do something novel to exploit weaknesses. There is nothing new and special about DDOS attacks. They take rudimentary knowledge and money and a network that has lowered defenses because it is so large and widespread because it has to be accessible to so many people. Nothing much beyond that. There is nothing they have done so far that has exemplified them as anything more than well funded script kiddies with a lot of pointless malice.

Script-kiddies getting arrested? Today is a good day.

Only good news about all these hack attacks is it literally forces company to upgrade dog shit 90's based security. It is so sad how America works that you literally have to drag people kicking and screaming into the modern age.
