    Heroic Highmaul Resto Shaman POV

    Right now our guild sits at 6/7 H and 7/7 N and I just wanted to share to you guys my videos (edited on movie maker!).

    If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll (try to) respond as quick as I can.

    I just wanna help my fellow shamans that are struggling at some bosses, and, as you can see, we raid with 2 shamans, a druid and a paladin. And both of the Shamans rocks!

    Cause we are Pandarens!

    Kargath Bladefist

    The Butcher

    Tectus

    Brackenspore

    Twin Ogron

    Ko'Ragh

    I use ElvUI and WeakAuras for Major Addons, Shaman Friend for Earth Shield Tracker and Skada for Damage/Healing Output, also DBM.

    To heal I use a LOT OF MACROS.

    Glyphs on every fight are Healing Stream Totem, Chaining and Healing Wave, the Talents I normally show at the beggining or at the end of the video.

    I HATE use Conductivity, but, its the better talent right now, so...

    My personal struggle is a lot movment, like Tectus or Twin Ogron.

    PS: English isn't my main language, so, forgot my errors, please.
    PS²: Sorry everyone, but Brazil > all

    Watched the butcher fight and have a question. I noticed you basically never use unleash life, I've been wondering how the GCD compares to spamming heals instead. Why exactly do you not use it?

    Thanks

    Our mechanic on The Butcher insists in 3 groups instead of the normal of 2.

    We have Right Arm, Left Arm and Behind (Ass), this way, we spread the Gushing Wounds on the Raid, so, Unleash Life only has one purpose, to stack on the Raid when hes about to use Charge and Bounding Cleave, because we have a Rogue/Mage/Paladin to solo the damage.

    The bonus Speed from UL ìs the main reason I use on this fight.

    But I Love UL, I just feel it that its underpowered, I wish that it was off GCD, something like Ancestral Swiftness and we could Macro it or more powerful.

    For now, my main reason to use UL is the Movement Speed, sadly though or when I drop CloudROFLMAOburst Totem and UL then Chain Heal, adds a ton when CBT explodes

    So I only watched the Butcher fight till now and I got some questions.

    1. Do you really thing Cloudburst totem is the right choice for this fights (if not for any fight at all) and if yes why did you choose to go for this level 100 talent. Especially for Butcher I really feel like the Chainheal talent is much stronger as it essentially gives you the possibility to top a cleave group with riptides on them with 1 cast, saving you a bunch of mana.

    2. What is the addon called that gives you the Healing rain indicator on the left. Not the icon the cool thingy.

    3. If you cancel a mana pot half way through it is not worth using the channeling one and you should rather use the instant one. I know this is not a question just wanted to note that .

    4. Which one of the shamans are you? Might have missed it becaues I am stupid or smt but I could not figure out which one you were

    5. Last but not least I see you are playing without elemental burst and wanted to ask how much spirit you have and which trinkets you are using.

    1 - Cloudburst is the best choice so far in my opinion, Storm Elemental still does low damage to compete and Chain Heal (High Tide) consumes a lot of mana to be effective even with the amount of targets, again, in my opinion.

    2 - Weak Auras, I tracked the Healing Rain buff, so when its Active, it keeps refreshing, its the semi-circle blue wave in the left.

    3 - We raid talking a lot, at least the healers, and if the channeled mana potion if active for (I believe) for 7+ secs its already worth it, and I use Healing Tide Totem and Drink, but I believe that time the other two healers needed to drink or needed me or something.

    4 - Im the Male Pandaren, or the Worgen, cause someone transmoged me, the one with the purple diamond in the head.

    5a - My opinion of Elemental Blast: Tried once, hated ever. I think if it healed instead of damage and still give the buffs, could work a way better, the way it is, does not work for me.

    5b - For trinkets I use some Trinket Neck as a Mage guildie says (Spirit/Haste 645) and the Darkmoon Card 2/3 that is the one that shines, I'll be upgrading it to 3/3 this weekend and this one is REALLY good, also, I tend to go to Crit > Haste >= Mastery > Multistrike in my gear, obviously, trying to think that Spirit/Int are better, but not 100% of the times.

    Thanks for the fast answer But I still have questions :P

    What amount of spirit do you run with?

    For the mana pot you are right. They are equally strong at around 6.3 seconds of channeling, but considering you are not doing anything for that time it is not worth using the channeling one if it does not channel for at least 8 seconds I think (someone of my fellow guildies calculated something). I understand that in this try though you were forced to cancel and just wanted to mention it

    For High Tide and Cloudburst I have to completely disagree though, especially as cloudburst is so "random". As I saw you seem to be playing with the riptide glyph making me really think there is no way that cloudburst gives you more throughput than hightide, as it essentially gives it back its smartheal (well its not so smart but you can choose the targets it hits). I don't know if you tried it but I strongly suggest trying to riptide the group that is going to get cleaved on next and time a chainheal so it hits right after the cleave. You will realize they will not even drop, saving you a lot of mana and time you would otherwise use to cast healing wave or Healing surge on every single one of them.

    So the Semi-circle blue thing is a weak aura? I only got ugly weak auras and am kinda jeallous of yours. Would you mind sharing that one with me?

    I have 1148 Spirit unbuffed, I believe that this number should go to ~1300 on raid plus 1600 with the Darkmoon Trinket 2/3 proc for 20s.

    About the potion, I maybe aint doing anything but drinking, but my Healing Tide Totem is working!

    Also, I'm thinking into change into Call of the Elements (3m CD, Resets CD of HST and CBT plus the others) because Totemic Persistence its meh

    Glyphs

    I use Glyph of Healing Wave, I like the 10% self heal since its my most used heal;

    Glyph of Healing Stream Totem cause the elemental Damage Reduction almost always comes in handy (maybe not on Butcher);

    And Chaining because gives a CD on Chain Heal and I am a Chain Heal spammer, this is a "self-nerf", but the Glyph is actually very good on the Last 3 bosses.

    And of course, Glyph of Deluge!!!

    Hate Glyph of Riptide, but I know that its good.

    Again, its my opinions and my playstyle! But feel free to discuss!

    The thing about Cloudburst is that I got used with the idea for now, I just wanna so much use Storm Elemental, but its just not worth it right now, I'll try this week, but I still believe the same results.

    ====

    This is my Full Weak Auras Set, feel free to use whatever you need to, I copied someone elses and over the years adjusted from myself!

    The mana bar and the Healing Rain are new things, I'm changing them almost every day until I like them, but its like 4 days I dont change.

    Also, I'm thinking into change into Call of the Elements (3m CD, Resets CD of HST and CBT plus the others) because Totemic Persistence its meh

    Glyphs

    I use Glyph of Healing Wave, I like the 10% self heal since its my most used heal;

    Glyph of Healing Stream Totem cause the elemental Damage Reduction almost always comes in handy (maybe not on Butcher);

    I know alot of people have their own play style and talent choices but Cloudburst totem gets completely outshone by High Tide in pretty much every situation. If your worried about mana consumption just work on improving that skill rather than nerfing your throughput and effectiveness. It's also not only the extra 'riptided' jumps that make it so good, its the fact it removes the diminishing power from each jump.

    Also very confused why you'd put a 3 second cooldown on our only spammable AoE heal for the sake of some distance that is likely never relevant or can be made up by High Tide anyway.

    Rushing Streams and Call of the Elements are also pretty strong too.

    Apart from that I do agree that the weak auras look good!

    Its kinda not of my job to AoE heal, its the Druids, we work like, if someone died for lack of heal, and was a AoE heal, probably was the Druids fault, or the DPS' fault, we dont try to fix an error with another, its a mentality.

    As I said, I'll try new things this week, not on normal because I'll probably go as Elemental (pew pew pew), but things as Glyph of Riptide on Chaining, Rushing Streams on Conductivity and High Tide on Cloudburst, also, I'll change my Keybind of Unleash Life (it's on Z) to use a little more often. Any ideas?

    Also, thanks for the Weak Auras compliment! It took months and inumerous /reloadui's and a lot of research on a lot of (believe it or not) russian forums! =)

    Hey! Great post Burgatt, always on the look out for this kind of feedback from fellow restos.

    You mention you use lots of macros ... I would be interested in seeing what you use.

    The only time I use CBT is in CM's, I have yet to find a fight in Highmaul where CBT is better than High Tide.

    In order for CBT to be most effective you to mindlessly spam heals (waste mana) so that it collects enough healing to be worth the GCD.

    Interesting read from Stoove: http://stoove.wordpress.com/2014/11/...lented-shaman/
