Best way to Gear?

In terms of PVP, I've found myself to be completely lost as to where to start and what to do in order to gear. Could someone give me a list of what they do as soon as they hit 100 - question directed to people who strictly do PVP.

I find it hard to get full blues in that short amount of time, is spamming random bgs really enough? I mean I haven't really spent an entire day just doing bgs as it gets tedious when your games are 50/50 sometimes less.

Gladiator's Sanctum in your Garrison makes the gearing progress much faster. After you get it, collect Broken Bones from Ashran and turn in at the Gladiator's Sanctum for work orders. These orders can yield honor, conquest or rare pvp gear.

Do Battlegrounds. You'll get a Gold Strongbox for winning, Silver Strongbox if you lost but was close, Bronze Strongbox if your team sucked. These boxes can contain honor, gold and rare pvp gear. The better the box the more gold/honor you get and bigger chance for gear.

You can get a fair amount of honor and conquest by doing events inside Ashran. You will get conquest and epic pvp piece from winning Ashran by killing enemy captain.

Don't forget to cap conquest points in Arena even if your gear sucks. You can cap conquest in Ashran as well, but takes much longer. But if you're also farming honor it works well. 50 conquest for winning BGs also.

Thanks for the reply, I already know about the Gladiators Sanctum but the queues on Frostmourne for Ashran at the moment are terrible.

I suppose my best bet is getting a premade for bgs?

Queue for Ashran and do BGs/other things while you wait for the queue to pop.

My Lock hit 100 2 days ago, and I'm full geared on him now just from spamming BGs.

Near instant queues, ~200 honor a win plus the box. Gonna be hard pressed to get gear faster anywhere else.

If you are decently skilled you can find a decent partner to do skirmishes. Also drops a box that can contain a blue item and is often over way faster than a BG. If you have a friend that is already geared to play with you and stomp all that undergeared opponents its even better.

Other than that almost everything has been said. Ashran ist the place to go first, just take a day/evening where you have 2 hours+ of time and immediately queue for it. Then spam BGs until you get in. Then farm Ashran for 1-2 hours which should yield you at least 1000 broken bones, probably more and hopefully get you the 200 conquest bonus. You can even get some free items from doing events, killing the enemy leader and looting body parts from enemies.

Once you have a good stack of broken bones and collected the body parts to get items Ashran will lose some of its appeal for honor farming. The broken bones you got from that first Ashran run (1000+) should last for something like 2 weeks and will get you something like 8000 honor or so over those two weeks. For gearing up you will want to just spam BGs/skirmishes after you have enough bones to keep your Sanctum going, which usually gets you 1-3 items per hour (depending on luck, I very often get double items from those boxes).

If you do it like that you should be fully geared within the first 2 weeks after hitting 100, even if you are only playing very casually. If you have a lot of play time it can be as fast as 1-2 days. I would say on average it takes like ~8 hours of playing PvP. Even less if you are casual and can wait out the pay-off from you Sanctum.

On the first character i got to 100 i did BGs and was geared within a few days, but on all my alts i went to Ashran and got full honor gear in 5 hours. You just need to run around and do the 4 events which reward 250 honor, 125 conquest, and also a chance at a box containing gear. If there's an elite up at the events people usually kill them and they can be looted for artifact fragments which you can then turn in for honor (1 fragment= 3 honor). There's also treasures dotted around the island that give up to 100 artifact fragments which again can be turned in for honor. I went around looting these in the downtime between events.

It's stupidly quick if you gear up in Ashran. After 6 hours i had finished my 4700 conquest cap.

I get only gold every time from lockboxes (or like 50 honor). Don't know how people ever gear up from BGs

5)repeat 4
6)Enter in Ashran, collect LOTS of bones : do side objectives (you may need to repeat 5 depending on server/faction)
7)GG you are full blue with 1-3 600 ilvl piece you may want to upgrade to 620 with your honors points
8)don't forget to fill your sanctum orders at all time


What I did with my hunter (yep scumbag FotM rerolling). Geared in 3 days playing ~2-4 hours/day.

Not exactly...you get conquest and the chance at an epic PvP piece from winning Ashran, once daily.

I make it a priority to try to get in my win every day with my guild and I have yet to get a piece of epic gear from the strongbox.

To add: You can sell and rebuy honor gear that you bought (to reset the 2 hour timer), so that you can get your honor back if you get the same item from a box. In other words, stay near the honor vendor and cycle your gear every now and then.

Really nice idea. However for me its usually the problem that I get the same items over and over from those boxes, really frustrating. They should make all sellable for a little amount of honor imo. Make it return 100% within the first 2 hours and then return like 20% or so after, so you can just sell the duplicates you get from boxes.
