ISIS territories have doubled in Syria since allied bombings began

Kind of a shitty situation, and yes, this map is from fox news (It is a screengrab) but it is sourced to other news organizations and such, including the wall street journal.

Why have efforts been failing so poorly? If the goal was not to stop ISIS in Syria, then what was the goal of the bombings? It seems to have had the opposite effect of stopping ISIS, or no effect at all and this would have happened anyway.

Whether you think the bombings should have happened or not (And it was not just the US this time!) the fact remains, as of right now, this looks like a completely failed mission.

Article Written by John Kerry about how the bombings would defeat ISIS:

    http://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/e...4dK/story.html

in my opinion this is not a political question, but a general society one; is it the responsibility of the rest of the world to be involved? And if you do decide to be involved, is their any excuse for such a failure?
    You're a towel.

Well we can't know how it would have been if we were just sitting with our thumbs up our ass. And if it has killed some of them, or destroyed weapons and vehicles, I am guessing it is at least somewhat of a success.

The bombings surely didn't hurt the situation if that's what you might think. ISIS is still growing so of course it's going to continue to grow dispite bombs dropping on them. The area needs to be nuked off the face of the planet.

Acteally, you can depending on the situetion(see, Germany conquering the Netherlands in WWII), but this is clearly not one of them. ISIS has no intention of surrendering.

Using bombs to win a war of idealogies is as effective as stamping potatoes into the mud to stop them growing.

    You win.

I wonder how many fuck ups people would allow their politicians to do before being able to fire them from their spot.

Yet it seems people keep listening to the same crowd... meh

The thing is, it didn't "Hurt' The situation, but it basically accomplished nothing if they goal was to stop/slow the spread of ISIS. So essentially it was a waste of time and a lot of money.

The US has learned nothing from Northern Vietnam. They bombed North Vietnam over and over and still they were pushing towards Saigon and forced the US out.
The US bombings in Pakistan actually increased the amount of support the Taliban receieved.

Bombings may stop supply lines, kill reinforcements and destroy equipment. However it does not stop a ideology and may even make it more popular. The US needs to learn this already.

'They surrendered because of the city bombings, not because they took control of all of the land.
