Proper documentaries on Japanese culture and history?

I'm trying to find some, but when I look around for documentaries on the subject all I find is romantized trash that is way too broad and unspecific, more often than not about the "Sengoku Jidai"-period.
I don't want to see more crap that praises how amazing they think the samurai were or shit like that, I want some proper history and culture, told objectively. Documentaries not made to be exaggerated, sensational, romantic or too broad. I want them in-depth, objective and not told as if they one watching it is an idiot with ADHD.

Please, if you know the names of some or perhaps the producers of some documentaries that might have something related to what I'm looking for, give me some names and I'll see if I can find them.
