If he is simply wanting laws removed that stop private companies from installing infrastructure, or laws like the one in Philadelphia forbidding muni WiFi because Comcast would lose customers, Im all for it!

Your infrastructure was paid for by your tax monies and later used by private monies to make more private monies. Most likely rather than the other way around as that's how those big projects generally get done.

And the laws the prez trying to get around are the ones that would allow more public monies to be spent on infrastructure upgrades. It's weird that he's talking about getting rid of laws prohibiting municipal wifi, whilst simultaneously being against public money for net improvements, when municipal wifi is govt money funding the net.

Local funding vs federal. If my town of 500 people want to setup town wide wifi, right now we can't. Removing the laws will allow us to do so. What's more it would allow projects like Google fiber access to telecom infrastructure such as telephone poles making roll out easier and less expensive.

Because you can't charge people for an absence of service (On purpose) and that would be illegal and they would literally lose billions, instead of the maybe way less than that with increases competition.

Still public funds. I'd be curious to see what rationale he could come up with how some public money is different than other public money. I'm not sure you could make an argument like that and still maintain the stances I've come to associate with that poster.
