Hard casting lightning bolt?

Hey, sorry if this was posted earlier or anything.

New to the enhance shaman DPS rotation, was wondering if it's ever okay to hardcast lightning bolt over frost shock? If so how many stacks of Maelstrom weapon?

I wouldn't use it much more less than 4 stack.

Its okay to use at 4, because its under the GCD, you just can't be moving. Once you cast it at 3 stacks, it is a little longer than GCD, but also interrupts your melee swings. It can be okay at 3 stacks, but 4 or 5 is ideal. Never less than 3

Hard casting a Lightning Bolt with 2+ stacks of Maelstrom Weapon is a DPS increase over Frost Shock in the priorities.

You'll need to learn the limits when choosing to hard cast Lightning Bolt. Depending on the amount of haste you have, hard casting Lightning Bolt actually doesn't interrupt your melee swings.
